Hi I'm looking at the example Fiance letter of intent and it has:

"United States Department of State"

"United States Consulate, USA"

And then we are supposed to add the address of the Embassy.

But if I use this form for my fiancee sweety in the philippines.....

Do I still leave the:

United States Department of State

United States Consulate, USA

Or do I errase that part?

Thanks,

Mike

where are you going to send the letters? If it is to the Service Centre dealing with your petition, then you should address the letters of intent to them.

Just replace it with the service center address. The sample letter of intent has the embassy info as the letter of intent is required again there as well.

Ok, I'm a little confused. You said:

'Just replace it with the service center address"

Now do you you mean by "it" this?

"United States Department of State"

"United States Consulate, USA"

But then you said:

"The sample letter of intent has the embassy info as the letter of intent is required again there as well."

Now that sounds like I should NOT replace "IT" But leave it and then put my service center office address under it where the form asks for "address"

Am I close.... Sorry for the confusion...:-)

Instead of

United States Department of State

United States Consulate, [NAME OF COUNTRY WHERE EMBASSY IS LOCATED]

[EMBASSY ADDRESS]

As new letters of intent are also required at interview stage, you would put

USCIS

[service Center eg CSC]

[address]

Department of State and USCIS are two seperate divisions.

I think really this should be changed in the example letter of intent to reflect this. Anyone else agree????

Ok so since I am sending this set of intent letters with my I-129 to my service center in Nebraska..... I should remove the:

"United States Department of State

United States Consulate"

And replace with:

U.S. Department of Homeland Security

U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services

Nebraska Service Center

P.O. Box 87130

Lincoln, NE 68501-7130

Is that right? For both my filipina sweety's letter and mine(american)?

And then you are saying we will be making a second set of intent letters for the interview, and these will have a different address?

Boy I'm glad I asked? Thanks so much for your help!!

Filed: Timeline

So, the Foriegn Fiancé's letter of intent should read something like:

Fiancé Letter of Intent

-Non U.S address-

-USCIS address-

-Date-

To Whom It May Concern:

I, -Foriegn Fiancé-, do hereby state that I am legally able and willing to marry -USC-, and intend to do so within 90 days of my entry into the United States using the K-1 Visa.

Signed,
