Well its time for me to send my I-864 in and I want to do the EZ, many people say that I need to send in my past 3 years transcripts, 6 months of pay stubs(will be printed out of my company payroll system) , letter of employment along with my W2, 1040, and 1099. I dont have a 1099 and I thought that was for Misc. Income that I dont have. Is it needed for everyone?

This list is an example of the possible forms to include. If you don't have one you can't supply one.

YMMV

Get tax transcripts from IRS. No need W2s, 1099s if you use them!

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Most people who work a normal job as an employee wont have 1099s, they are issued to people who work for a company as an independent contractor, and are responsible for their own taxes, and income tax is not withheld by the company that the contractor is working for.

I get W2 from my employer, and I do some side work as a contractor for a couple of other people, and get 1099 from them.

A simple solution is to follow the recommendations in I-864EZ and get simple IRS transcripts, they are FREE.

I already have my tax transcripts, but a few people said they got a rfe for not including the w2, while the instructions say that all you have to send in is your transcripts the checklist provided says you do need to provide w2 and 1040, I think that some NVC workers might be confused about this and send out a rfe. Im not sure but I dont want to take any chances.

Not necessarily.... For example, please look at Box 4 of the 1099-MISC

1099 is for miscelleneous income: DIVIDENDS, INTEREST EARNED, MISC.

If you did not earn income from dividends, interest earned checking/savings accounts or miscelleneous contracted work, you don't need the form.

Basically, if you use a photocopy of the actual 1040 you filed with the IRS, your supposed to include copies of the supporting documents that went with it. If you decide to file a IRS transcript of your taxes, that alone is all you need.

I am self employed and don't get 1099s or anything. Filed tax transcripts and didn't have any problems with embassy interview or AOS interview!

Hi,

There are 2 versions of the IRS transcript. One for $39 is an exact copy whereas the free one will meet "the requirements for lending institutions for mortgage verification purposes." I assume either one works so long as it is not a photocopy of one, correct?
