Hi Ya All

I had a successful 9:00 am interview yesterday - 'Approved'

So 2 Little Tips for all you London Bound Folk.

1. Don't walk away and leave your Very Large Brown envelope containing your X-Ray, in the Embassy....DOH!

2. The Embassy called me last Friday and said that they would REFUSE ENTRY to me if I was carrying electronics. So you'll need to use a Left Luggage locker at a Train Station, or some other cunning plan. There is a local Chemists (Pharmacy for all you Yanks reading this.....LOL) that will store your things for a Fee of 10 English Pounds (That's 20 BUCKS). Which is a F***ing Rip Off (No Translation Required) if you ask me.

Anyway...I digress. Interview was just fine and dandy. Thanks to all of you who wrote very detailed reports about your experiences. These really helped so check 'em out under the 'Embassy Info' Tab.

Okay, I'm starting to get really concerned about this... surely they CANNOT expect lone females to make a long journey and wander around in a city WITHOUT a mobile phone? I am absolutely fine with having to check it in at security before entering the embassy but am absolutely stumped as to how I can be expected to travel without a means of communicating with my family to let them know that I'm okay. I'm going to have to travel by train overnight and hang around for about 3 hours before my interview, and who knows how long afterwards before my train is due back... surely they understand that this is a safety issue?

It's not just that. You can't even bring in electronic CAR KEYS. I'm disabled and plan to write my reps about the inaccessibility of THAT decision. My interview was today. See my more lengthy post about it.

Barry was approved today. He left car, phone and keys at his Mum's who is just 15 minutes away by train....

If you are traveling by train, can't you leave keys, phone etc. in a lock up there? It is very frustrating for sure! Good luck!
