My fiance has entered America on a K1 visa. I am filling out the AOS paperwork right now.

Because she entered on a K1 visa she has already had the medical exam (this was done in her home country). We did not have time for her to get all the vaccinations before she came to America.

Do we have to have all the vaccinations completed BEFORE I can submit the AOS forms to USCIS???

You need to find a civil surgeon in your area from the USCIS website and then they can do the vaccinations or accept them if you get them done from your doctor etc. They will fill out a vaccination supplement I693a (I think.) That's what you will need to submit with the AOS application. Good Luck

Are we REQUIRED to get the vaccinations from a civil surgeon, or can any doctor give my fiance the required shots???

My fiance (now wife) received a paper when she had her interview. It was a list of vaccinations with doctor's signatures. How do we know which ones she needs? Also, where can we look to find a civil servant for this?

You can get the shots anywhere, but make sure you get documentation (vaccination card or whatever) for them. Alot of people just go to their family physician or wherever their insurance covers them.

Then you show the CIVIL SURGEON that vaccination card/letter/record/whatever, along with your copy of the vaccination worksheet from the doctor that did your K1 medical back in your home country, and they just transfer all that information to the I693A vaccination supplement. They will give that to you (sealed I believe) and you include it with your AOS application packet.

As far as I know, if you are over 19 and under 65, you should only need the MMR (measles, mumps & rubella), varicella (chicken pox) and DT/Td (diptheria/tetanus) shots. You can get whatever else is missing just for your own health if you feel the need to. *Check on the USCIS website or search VisaJourney to confirm this*

Be careful with the civil surgeons, some will try to convince you that you need to do a full medical again. You don't. Call around until you find one that will transfer the info onto the I693A form for a reasonable price.

Check the USCIS website for a list of civil surgeons in your area.

best of luck to both of you! :)
