I am preparing to send in my I-129F ... can I get some input from the other VJ members please? :-)

HOW DID YOU ALL GO ABOUT PRESENTING ALL YOUR INFORMATION?

Is sending in a binder acceptable? I wanted to make it look organized and professional. Does anyone have any pictures of theirs that they can send me or some ideas?

Has anyone used "personality" in their filings? Cute pictures with hearts, etc etc? My finacee is an artist and wants to draw some pictures to use in conjunction with our pictures. (just in addition to the other "standard" pictures we send in)

And not sure if anyone knows this but will this binder of information be sent in to the consulate in her country?

I just read through the information on the US gov website regarding k1 visas. Could they be more confusing or non-specific? What exactly needs to be sent in with the 1-129F? So far, this is the list I have compiled - what am I missing?

1. $455 fee

2. 1 passport photo of me, 1 passport photo of fiancee

3. I-129F form

4. G-325A form - one for me, one for her (is that right?) also, do I spell her address with the Vietnamese symbols or without?

5. letter of intent to marry from each of us (do these need to be notarized?)

6. letter of how we met in person

7. copy of my birth certificate

8. copy of all pages of my passport

9. copy of her birth certificate

10. copy of her birth certificate certified translation

11. copy of my certified divorce decree

12. credit card statement showing ticket to vn purchase

13. photos, emails, chats

Regarding chat logs - should I send in complete chats if it is 20+ pages in length? That seems like a LOT of paper for them. Or can I print out the first and last page of each chat or something to that effect?

anything else?

Sorry for all the questions but since I am (apparently) working with the hardest consulate in the world, I want to do a perfect job. :-) Thanks to everyone for your input!

Thanks very much and wish me luck on my journey!

Save the chats and emails for the interview. You only need to prove you met in the last 2 years.

Send a couple picture of you with her in VN.

Indexed cover letter also.

K1 denied, K3/K4, CR-1/CR-2, AOS, ROC, Adoption, US citizenship and dual citizenship

!! ALL PAU!

Hi Jonas.

I would like to give you advices, but I do not have much time right now.

I have to go back to work from my lunch break.

But, with regard to binding your docs together, you should go to USCIS website. Here is the link. They explain what to do, so you should read this over carefully.

http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis/men...00045f3d6a1RCRD

One more thing:

If you have more of the primary evidences of meeting each other within the past two years such as copies of your passport (You should include all pages including your photo pages if you decide to include this as an evidence), bording pass, itinerary, credit card receipt showing that you were at certain place and so on, include those. It is just my opinion, but I think your evidences are weak.

Search old thred and also RFE thred on this one. Some people have really good things to say. Let's learn from fellow VJer's experiences.

Good Luck.

Nao

Nix the binder and the distraction of cute pictures. They're going to build their own file their own way and toss anything extra. A simple binder clip or even just a correctly sized envelope that keeps the pages in order will do nicely.

Think "business", not art.

Boarding passes are more important evidence of meeting than receipts for tickets. If you don't have them, your passport stamps will do. No need for a birth certificate if you send a complete copy all passport pages.

Facts are cheap...knowing how to use them is precious...

This page in the Visa Journey guides is helpful. http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...mp;page=k1guide

Include a cover letter.

Her birth certificate comes later in the process in her country. USCIS just wants to determine if you are a US citizen and have the right to file a K1.

G-325A has 4 pages for each person. All signed. Some people overlook that.
