There is a girl at a gym I used to go to that worked out not only with full makeup but body glitter as well.

I only do water exercise at the gym and I usually have perfume on when I go. I do that on my lunch break and I always put perfume on when I leave the house in the morning. By lunch time I'm assuming it's not very strong. I also have on my make up which is just eye make up because that's all I wear. As for the other work outs I do we have gym equipment at home so it doesn't really matter what I smell like when I'm there. I usually wear gym shorts or yoga pants, a sports bra, and a t-shirt depending on how hot it is outside. I have a fairly new pair of Nike gym shoes I always wear. Of course, when water exercising I wear my bikini.

Just couldn't stay my @ss away!

Nice! Back to the greek days!

That might require more than just a towel to wipe down the equipment after use...

Lysol perhaps...

bleh.

When I swim, I am often nauseated by the overpoweringly powerful perfumes that some women insist on wearing while they exercise. One is supposed to shower before getting into the pool. Either these people don't do so (confirmed) or their perfume is so strong that it lingers after the most energetic showering.

Quite honestly, I would be happy to see a 'no perfume at the gym' notice!

Refusing to use the spellchick!

I have put you on ignore. No really, I have, but you are still ruining my enjoyment of this site. .

In practice, this is almost done as a rule in swimming pools (eh, swimming IS a total-body workout)

The fact that you can detect these over the chlorine reek (which one expects at a pool) tells plenty.

I am wondering if it's a problem with mass produced cheap perfumes. If somehow they are chemically produced to 'withstand' the most vigorous attempts to get rid of them? I was quite shocked the first time I whiffed perfume above the reek of chlorine because you are right, it's extremely strong and you would have thought with a shower and the chlorine, perfume would be long gone.
