Keyboards of the Music Kind

Well, after a whole year and a half of not playing I've come into money and am re-purchasing a keyboard.

i had a Roland RD-700.. and loved the board. i played a lot on stage at the time, and primarily used it for that. Now in the US, I haven't played on stage at all and don't really see that happening in the near future. Anyone have a good idea for a home/stage product that's on the same caliber as far as piano sound, touch and overall "beefiness"? I think i'm looking for internal speakers as I don't have room in my apartment for a keyboard wedge too.

I'm at a loss.. been looking at the FP series for Roland and the CP series from Yamaha.. wondered if there was anything I was missing

At one point, we were looking for an electric piano. A friend of mine, who is a professional musician, said Roland is the way to go. We bought one and loved it.

Are you close enough to a local music store? Those guys are usually really up to date on what keyboards are the best for a particular sound.

Yeah.. i used to be one of them.. not a beginner player, but just wanting to see if there were any other key players here on VJ

Speaking of keyboards, I saw this 14 year old play different songs on a piano and post them on youtube. They have been on youtube a while but I just recently saw them. He plays by ear.

Ours was not really a keyboard. It was an electronic piano....had weighted keys.
