Thanks Reba! We might do just that =) So really, it only takes 6 months to petition?? I guess we'll take things one step at a time. Right now, the main thing is to become a citizen.. then move on from there. Well good luck to you and James. I hope everything works out for the best for you guys also. =)

Here's the processing times that are posted on the CIC website for Spousal applications processed outside Canada (which yours would be because you're living in the US currently)

Processing Times at Individual Visa Offices in the Americas : Buffalo

30% of cases finalized in: 3 (months)

50% of cases finalized in: 5 (months)

70% of cases finalized in: 7 (months)

80% of cases finalized in: 9 (months)

Very rarely does it take longer than 9 monhts for an outland application. In-land takes longer for some reason that no one has been able to figure out But its Canadian government, I long ago quit trying to figure out why government does anything that it does.

And btw on topic sort of, the only thing I ever liked about New Jersey was its proximity to Manhattan and my friends there.
