All right boys and girls a congrats is in order for me! I was just approved by VSC today 6/23/2008 on both of my petitions, 1-130 and I-129F.

At this point, I really am indifferent between the two petitions and which ever one the consulate decides to process, I am fine with.

In any case, there's hope for all of you that have been waiting for a while. Good luck!

-Fahad

Congratulations!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Congratulations! Your indifference will tend to adjust when you start getting bills from NVC for the I-130. Time to study the CR1 guide for the steps after NOA2 and make some decisions.

Ha - point noted! I just want me wife to be here as soon as possible. I am actually quite well off and really am not concerned with the fee difference between the two. If it costs a few more grand to get my wife here 2 to 3 months early, I'm willing to pay the extra fees.

However, you do raise a good point! If I have a choice and the time frame from here on forward is similar for both routes, then I may decide to drop the I-129F. But I thought that I didn't have that option any more. Hmmm??

The most recently stated policy would indicated your I-130 would be held and the I-129F sent to NVC but Vermont specifically seems to be forwarding both petitions now.

Ad, they have Dec as the date for I129Fs and these are what is being approved right now -- 129F. So for the K-3 they are spot on.

It is the IR1/CR1s that are not reflected in the VSC processing date by what most of us would consider a representative date. Of course they make the definitions so they get to decide.

why VSC is not updating their website if they are approving Dec'07 petitions. Did anyone from Jan'08 got an approval yet?

Regardless of the labeling, those processing dates simply reflect the receipt date of the oldest petitions they still haven't finished adjudicating. It's quite common to show a date far older than the receipt dates of the vast majority of petitions currently being completed.
