Jackie- i was k-3 and i hated the idea of becoming CR1 but now i thank God for it al hamdulillah; its pretty fast with being able to pay online n download the files rather than waiting for them in the mail.

Hello ladies it's been a while. I know that some of you have already seen my latest news and post, but I just want to thank you all personaly here because the MENA sisters have been my back bone support for the past 2 years that my hubby and I have been waiting for our approval. Many of you have been with me through this since the begening and many of you are new and I don't know some of the newbees very well, but non the less you have all been here every time that I came and went and needed to vent and cry, and ask why why why. Thank you so very much from the bottom of my heart. It feels like a dream come true. It happened when we least expected it to. Just like falling in love, right when you least expect it, it smacks in the face. It just feels nice to know that one of our applications has moved on and at least we are now at NVC!!!

This is wonderful news Mireya! It surely lifted up my spirits today. I am very happy for you and hope the rest of the process is quick and painless! :star:

VJ Hours - I am available M-F from 10am - 5pm PST. I will occasionaly put in some OT for a fairly good poo slinging thread or a donut.

Good morning poeple! Congrats Dip_sticks! yay for fresh tomatoes and gardens :) Jackie, I got that before and it was concerning my bed of daylilies and iris which weren't in bloom at the time. I got really ticked off and argued with them over it.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

amal did you ask him those 2 last names..what country they might be from? Looks totally like a cool floor store! I am already familiar with all those brands!

I just had a wonderful 2 hour chat with Ibrahim. Finally. We are having a hard time finding that 'chat groove' with our work scedules and the time difference.

I need to make a decision to file k3 or wait out an I130. I certainly know the differences and while appreciating the benefits of an I130, I look at cases like Andrea and Faisal, waiting over 2 years for 130 approval. That kinda stuff scares me right over to k3. It's free now. They used to charge for k3. So what do you all think? Wait out i130 or k3 it?

jJ

He didn't know them..I forgot to ask where they were from lol!

I-130 all the way!!!!! k-3 is sooooooooooooooooooo difficult coz they are not allowed to work and they go absolutely crazy at home waiting for that stupid approval. At least with CR-1 they can work as soon as they have that SSN... much much much worth the wait!!!

jJ, I am proponent of filing both petitions...and especially now moreso that the 129 is fee "waived". When I previously filed I think they were 185 and 175 respectively. But you just never know....they are approving both at the same time these days. But honestly, I am nervous about them (UCSIS NVC) "forcing" you to purse one OR the other. I hope that doesn't happen to me...as it seems to be happening at VSC a lot.

My first time around (when AMM was scheduling interviews only when they received the paperwork back from the beneficiary) my 129 made it to AMM first as it should have. We got the paper work back to them 2.5 months after they received the case from the NVC ( they sent it to me in the US then I had to send to my now ex, resulting in 2.5 months wasted) and they scheduled the interview like 6 months in to the future. During that time my 130 made it through NVC and was forwarded to the consulate. AMM agreed to interview for the CR1 rather than the K3, at the previously scheduled K3 interview.

Since the NVC now schedules the interviews for AMM, I am still sticking to what worked before and hopefully AMM will accommodate that same request (interview for CR1 at K3 slot) if the need should arise. In the grand scheme of things, we are talking a few months between the two these days, rather than the 8+ months in the future if you were wanting to interview for the CR1 a few years ago.

All that being said, I sense that filing both gets you approved "faster"....as they are approving both at the same time at CSC. That is just my feeling and from the limited research I have done. I was torn whether to file the 129 as well, but you just do what you need to do to get your spouse here ASAP. And worst case, then might have the opportunity to go back once they get the K3 to interview for the CR1.
