Peace to All creatures great and small............................................

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

Nice post! I am a notorious waster of $ and am trying to reform, not because I need to but because it is wise. Even though I have a double sink, I run water the whole time while I wash the dishes and I was clothes twice a week. So I have stopped doing that. When the lady came to read my meter she gave me the following tip:

No Empty Freezer: Keep your freezer as packed as possible....Henry and I are vegetarians and use mostly fresh veggies so our freezer does not have much - she said I should put bags of ice in there and it will help lower my bill.

Buy Non perishables at 99cents store: Another thing that helps if you have those dreaded 99cents stores in your area - buy all non food items there...I get school supplies, stationery, garbage bags, sponges for diswashing, bleach, disinfectant, toiletpaper etc. If you give your kids candy, you can't beat 99cents for a bag of 20 mini kit kats.

I usually save a lot that way.

You can also try everyday cheapskate website - they have good suggestions:

Every day I get letters and tips from my loyal readers. While I make every effort to test and verify information, I advise you to exercise caution before attempting to duplicate another reader’s suggestion or before patronizing any business or service with which you are not personally familiar. Consider that the “fine print.” And please, keep those letters and tips coming!

COOL CUKES. Wrap your cucumbers individually, cut or uncut in a paper towel, and they will last up to two weeks. No more, mushy surprises when you reach inside your veggie bin.

B&B CLUB. If you are over 50, consider joining the Evergreen Bed and Breakfast Club. The cost is $75 a year plus $15 per couple per night of use. Great folks. We have been members since 1991 and rarely have had to stay in a hotel. Check it out at EvergreenClub.com.

FREE 411. I used to pay about $12 each month on my cell phone bill for 411 directory assistance. Now I pay nothing for unlimited directory assistance from any phone for nationwide residential and business directory assistance. I use 1-800-411-METRO (6387). The service is completely free and it’s great. They have live operators who are very pleasant and polite. They will also connect the call at no cost, however if you opt for this as you wait to be connected you’ll hear a 10-second ad. This is my favorite new find. Thanks for having such a great educational site (www.DebtProofLiving.) . After years of spending without saving, I'm finally learning my lesson.

SAVE A BUCK. When our family goes to any restaurant, we never order drinks or desserts. We can save more than a buck a person simply by drinking water. That’s healthier for us anyway. We also don't order desserts which are very expensive. Instead, we stop off at the store on our way home and purchase a whole carton of ice cream for the same price as one dessert at the restaurant.
