i'll post a pic of it for you later when i get home and can get into photobucket.

How do you go home, do they airdrop you into your estate? I'm assuming it's not passable by road.

if i can drive the camaro into the garage, what do you think?

i can see charles and nessa being parachuted every evening after work to their home lol

They get dropped on to the back of an elephant, which they then ride to their palace.

Hmm the 20,000,000 illegal immigrants, with no papers, don't seem to have a problem. So there clearly is a way.

Sure - if you want to do odd jobs for the rest of your life - at below the minimum wage. If you're at that point - being on welfare is probably more profitable.

It is called a start. If minimum wage needs to be raised then so be it. The attitude seems to be that if someone cannot get to CEO from day 1 they are not going to even bother trying.

Based on the the behavior of certain people in government housing, as started earlier, what future do the kids of such mothers have when their own mother does not give a #### and has the freedom to behave that way. It all comes down to attitude. Hence why most post 60's inner cities in America look like Baghdad; after the war.

Oversimplification.

Of course. Everything is complicated and everyone's individual situation is different. The problem here is that nothing changes because the work required to make a change is probably not constitutional or is probably somehow going to be classified racist.

On the same note respect is a two way street. Why should I pay more taxes to fund welfare when the good portion of the people receiving the welfare could not give a #### and only trash anything we give them. So for me #### those types. Only the people who deserve and appreciate assistance should get it. Heck I say we give them double the welfare to get them back on their feet.

According to the Internal Revenue Service, the 400 richest American households earned a total of $US138 billion, up from $US105 billion a year earlier. That's an average of $US345 million each, on which they paid a tax rate of just 16.6 per cent.

What 'work' did you have in mind? Inquiring minds want to know.

First of all move. Get the #### out of the cities. There are no jobs there for unskilled workers since manufacturing left the cities a number of decades ago.

Having trouble here replying to individual posts....sorry. Can you tell I don't post often.

As far as immigrants coming to the US-the people I know and work are refugees who had no choice but to come here and were resettled in Vermont. Many people DO move to cheaper parts of the country or to be with family members elsewhere.

I used to work with refugees too. They had to start out in poorer areas. They had their living paid for a set amount of time then it was up to them to pay every bill(within a month or two). I thought they didn't get enough help before having to be on their own. Especially if they hardly knew English. I used to go set up their apartments with furnishings and food for when they arrived here from their country. A lot of them worked very hard to make their lives better after being here. It took a lot of work and determination, but many of them ended up owning houses after a few years and were able to make it. I think in today's economy it wouldn't be the same situation(post-housing boom when many houses are priced too high compared to income). I think there are problems in the system and with Section8 but I agree with you about some people generalizing too much.

Manufacturing has been in decline for years anyway... I don't think there's really enough work for the people already living in those areas who want it, let alone bringing in more people.

Take Ohio - where the traditionally strong manufacturing economy has started to decline as a knock-on effect of the state of the national economy. Their industrial sector has already seen job losses in the tens of thousands.

Ummm.... people moving out of the cities is unconstitutional or racist? Unless your plan entails forcing them to relo, I don't see how.

Ultimately the question is what to do with the poor people..... they have to live somewhere.

I think instead of moving poor people around there should be ways to make them not poor and not uneducated at the same time. I think that may be a novel thought for some to swallow.

Education is the key but how do we get them educated when their own parent/s don't care whether they go to school or do their homework or even obey the laws. Just this weekend I met a teacher from Flint Michigan and the stories she had to tell me about high school students says a lot. If I dared cursed let alone threatened a teacher my dad would have disciplined me at school; in front of the other kids. Hence why I never did it.

I don't know of any professional who was a gansta yet somehow became a scholar. You are speaking about theoretically solutions but the reality, in America, is far from that. These kids don't even respect a teacher or the laws yet you somehow believe we should try educating them. Not going to happen.

I know lots of gansgter turned scholars! Well, maybe not scholars but definitely successful. In fact, we're having a man come in who did a ten year bid for cocaine and now is going to law school.

And good question about how we get them educated when their parents don't care...it takes a village! I do my best to keep my kids going on the right track even when their parents don't care. You'd be amazed how much they gravitate to the community center I work at, simply because we treat them respectfully. And they always return the respect, amazingly enough. I've heard how some of my clients talk to others: social service providers, parents, friends, etc, and it turns my stomach, but then they turn to us and say please and thank you.

Oh you're not supposed to talk about communities...

I think definitely, if you push them enough in the right direction, they react positively. Those of us here that have actual, bona fide experience in those fields have plenty of stories, unlike others that talk more BS out of their fingers here. (no offense to anyone in particular... its just that many here like to B!tch and do jacksquat to improve their communities)

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

So first the powers-that-be change my community in a manner I never approved of or asked for.... and then once they change it for the worse, it's up to me to improve it?

I don't think so.

Outside of voting for someone else - how would you go about "improving" your community anyway?
