Like I said- the phone call is anonymous. Child welfare workers tend to make sure of that. If there is a crime being committed by and adult and the call to 911 is anonymous, you don't have to be involved unless you witness something overt.

All the parent knows is some lil white girl in a couple buildings away talked to their child and CFS is at their door the next day and the police.....and thats all she wrote. You dont think the mom wont get her daughter to point my door out??? even before CFS or the police got there when she went home an said "mommy, this lady wouldnt let me use her bathroom and then was asking me questions about where i live and where is my mommy"

Well at least that would mean that girl's mommy isn't so bad then. Maybe she'd want to go clarify things with you. ;)

Beyond that there is the whole harassment issue... imagine... a second call against this 'neighbor' would pretty much help seal the lady's fate wouldn't it? Also, you really don't have to let her in your home.

Your not seeing my point, you hadnt seen the ppl who live here, theres no point in you understanding until you have encountered one at some point over something like telling their child to stop throwing rocks at the cars in the parking lot bc you didnt want yours to get hit, and the mom come running out flaring her arms claiming to put a cap in your ### for even looking at her child. (not to me, my neighbor, however i was out there with her when it happened)

Sucks to hear that and I empathize with your position. I guess I can say that I've lived in places where that's exactly the kind of behavior I saw in some neighbors. Section8-type or not.

What I remember my parents doing was anonymously contacting law enforcement. Nobody came around to our house and if they did, then I am pretty sure they'd have to also dial an ambulance after running into our self-defense. Nevertheless, that is conjecture.

I totally empathize with you though. What options do you have other than calling 911?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

exactly why i live in the country  glad to see you got outta that place.

Its like i told amby, i never knew what "ghetto" or "section 8" was until i was 15 and my parents decided not to live on military bases anymore. I cant wait til edi is in the Coast Guard and we get stationed so i can get back on a Military base.

Yeah, I wouldn't mess with them if I were you.

If you want to report them, avoid all contact with them for a couple of weeks, then do it anonymously.

THANK YOU AMBY AND MAWILSON for understanding

I moved out in April, couldnt take it anymore. We are in a house now, in a good neighborhood until we get stationed where ever once edi is out of basic training. But even if still living there, id still not report them...or just do what you sd mawilson

Ahh ok you're not there anymore. Good.

Another thing to consider is that if you know they can spot you as a witness to their illegal deeds, perhaps you can assume they'll do it again... so patiently be Macchiavellical and get them when they don't know its you. I suppose this is something you can do anywhere with anyone doing anything illegal, Section8 or not.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

What i shouldve done, and will think of in the future if i live off base while in the military, is go to the location at night on a weekend and see what kinda of things i see...a couple times, not just once or twice.

I know in some areas they appropriate closed bases and use the housing for personnel. Nice, too.

troll seems to think this will add to the conversation...don't attack me because it was his idea not mine :P

the section 8 stuff will ruin your life. seriously. the suburb I live in is known as where the rich, stuck up snobs live. seriously if you tell someone you live in newburgh 80% of the time they'll call you stuck up or a snob before they know anything else. they'll ask if you live in one of the mansions on the riverfront and stuff. there's no crime. not very many people who aren't white. UNTIL they put section 8 housing in part of one of the new apartment complexes. crime has gone up, the cops are busier, people are taking advantage. the great example was when I had the cafes in the libraries. kids would come in and ask me if i could cut them a deal. seriously a 6yr old tried to steal stuff and asked if I would cut him a deal just this once. loads of parents would drop their kids off at the library for the day in the summer so they didn't have to deal with them. they vandalize, steal, annoy, are loud, etc. they have to have a sheriff at the library at all times and they have to actually ban kids from the library and then their parents come in saying what did you do to my kid. it's insane! everything has gone downhill since the section 8 came into the area.

one of the other things I noticed is the main grocery store is starting to stock a lot more of the "value" type products. you know the ones that are even cheaper than the store brand. before they never had that.

Fukced up.

Whose bright idea was it to build Section 8 housing in a wealthy neighborhood?

One thing I always liked about the way America handled poverty and crime is the

"containment" approach.

"This street is the boundary - do not cross! If you cross the boundary line and get

caught committing a crime, you're fukced."
