Hi All,

I have a few questions regarding the EAD. What do you think are the basis of being approved of the EAD? Does everybody who files for AOS gets approved of EAD before the AOS is approved? I dont know if im making myself clear.

What I want to know is that, will they issue me the Authorization to work even if my AOS is still pending? what do they review before iossuing this permit? Also, will I be able to apply for a SS number as soon as I get my EAD card?

Thanks in advance.

You haven't said what visa you're in the US using, so I can't comment on your ability to apply for an SSN. You may be eligible now, but if not you should be eligible when you have the EAD in person.

The EAD itself is an interim benefit when you have applied for adjustment of status. The EAD is normally processed within 90 days, your AoS is very unlikely to be approved in that time frame. If you can be approved for the EAD then it normally will be issued before the green card.
