Filing Fee - Confusing information

Hi there,

I am going to file for romving of conditions hopefully on monday. I was confused about the filing fee. On the USCIS website it says $465 (plus $80 biometric service fee). here is the link:

Whereas on the Following link is says $ 545 (filing + biometric) for you + $80 biometric fee for each dependent you include in your application.

So what is the EXACT total fee?..its just making me confused. I don't have any kids so its just going to be me.

It's $465 application fee plus $80 biometrics, so $545 if it's just you.

Thanks Jenn for the quick response. I have one more question, Which express carrier should i use to mail my petition? USPS, UPS or fedex? Also i am in MICHIGAN so the USCIS mailing address would be:

USCIS Nebraska Service Center P.O. Box 87751 Lincoln, NE 68501-7751

Is that correct?

Nebraska is no longer processing I-751s. You should send directly to California.

I used Fed Ex to send our petition, but you need to make sure you use the street address rather than P.O. Box if you use a courier. USPS will work just fine, and some recommend it because the signature receipt serves as proof that the petition was received.

Arguh... I totally missed having to send the forms to California. I just printed them out a few weeks ago and highlighted the section that says "Where to File" and my office was Nebraska Service Center. When did this change take place?

No problem.

The memo was issued on 5/23, so the change is fairly recent and they haven't updated the instructions yet. They'll still transfer your petition to the right service center if you send to TX or NE, but you'll save yourself the transfer time by sending directly.

Basically, one can take current fees as:

• $545 total per applicant, currently
• subject to raise on USCIS' whim

Thanks a lot Jenn, could you please tell me the source from which you got this information about mailing it to California? or the web link?

I have another quick question. Since i am going to mail our bank and credit card statements with A/C numbers on them, should i keep it just like that or should i hide all the digits of A/C numbers except last four digits?...What do you guys recommend?

Like for example my A/c number is 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 should i make it X X X X X 6 7 8 9?

Jess, I don't know what to say about blacking out the acount numbers. I didn't black out mine. It may or may not make a difference, but several people on this forum received RFE requesting more complete information -- for instance, they sent the first page of their bank statements and were asked for the entire statement; they sent printouts of their tax returns and were asked for the IRS transcripts. It seems like USCIS likes the see the whole, unadulterated picture. Now, there is certainly no guarantee that you would have any problems if you blacked out your account numbers. I'm also not particularly worried about the USCIS doing identity theft -- they have access to so much private info from so many people, that they must be aware that if anything untoward happened, they would be the obvious culprits.
