Postpone Biometrics

My wife has her biometrics appt during a summer vacation we had planned. Has anyone postponed the biometrics? We might do that..

Some people have showed up to the office on a different day before their biometrics and kindly asked the personnel if it was possible to do it since there was a time constraint. Some have succeeded some have not. The letter also gives you the instructions of how to change it in case you as not able to attend. Remember by not showing up to your biometrics, it means that you have abandoned your AOS process.

Yes. On the biometrics form itself it should give you the option to notify them that you are not available for the date and would like to reschedule, along with a space where you can fill in a date. Send the form back requesting another biometrics date for after your return, and include copies of your flight arrangements/tickets to show why you are not available. Keep copies of the form, etc. for yourself too. They should reschedule you without a problem. I had to do this during my AOS as well, and there was no difficulties. My new appointment was just over a month after the rescheduled one. Good luck.

I had my appt for July 5th, Saturday. Last week I mailed back the original appt letter with an attachment of my available dates for the biometrics appt. I hope I get a new date. As we're taking two vacays, it's probably annoying for them to reschedule, but I'm sure it will be fine.

If you live near the biometrics center, why not just drive down there and see if they'll do it for you on the spot??

My Appointment was in Soho NYC and there was NO ONE ELSE THERE

I suggest going in just to see what happens. Nothing is wrong with politely asking.

Also, (and apologies if you're aware of this already) remember that your wife should not leave the US without her advance parole papers in hand!

They don't seem to give out phone numbers for them.

I would just go there Tuesday - Saturday.

Just Googled the Jamaica Ave center, and it seems they are pretty quiet.

I would definitely try a walk in!
