Good Morning Everyone,

What a day I had yesterday...

I was to make the 3 hour trip down to where I meet my ex half way between his house and mine, to pick up my girls.

About and hour into my trip and at 75-80 mph on I-25 my car DIED!!!! I was traveling in the left hand lane, there was a break in the heavy traffic so I got myself over from the left lane to an exit and off the side of the road before we stopped rolling....

I opened my hood and we looked under there nothing seemed amiss. I wont go into all of the details but a nice couple stopped and the husband had a look and found nothing obviously amiss either but still my car would not start. So I called a tow truck to take us the 6 miles back the other way into a town.

It being a Saturday not much was open so we were delivered to a Midas shop. At this point we were thinking to ourselves, fuel pump. It was going to be a bit, and by a bit I mean a few hours, so we walked up to a Mexican Restaurant too seek refuge from the heat. I had myself a nice BIG margarita!!

I had phoned my ex at some point and told him what happed and that he needed to keep driving because I would not be meeting him, I was out of comission.

Several hours and a few tears (just from the shear stress of things, that was before the margarita) later Midas called to say it was a Crank Shaft Censor that had bit the dust under my hood somewhere. OK shouldnt that be covered under my warrantee I think? Car is a 2006 and has 35,883 (that number is now forever burned in my brain) miles on it. The nice Midas guy says it is worth a shot that it is, and he cant get a part today to fix it anyway, the nearest one is in Omaha. (He did not charge me by the way for the diagnostic test,THANK YOU MIDAS MAN)

My friend Melanie who is with me discovers that Kia ( that is what kind of car I have) has a towing service, if you break down they will tow you at thier expense to the nearest Kia dealership. COOL!! Happens to be that the nearest dealership is the one I bought my car from initially.

Anyway my car is at the dealership, and my girls made it home ok. I am very thankfull that nothing happened to Melanie and I my car died on the interstate. I am also very thankfull for the angels that came to help us, the married couple (with thier babies in the car) she even gave me sunscreen, I was getting a sunburn. The Midas guy who was nice enough to help me and NOT charge me (on a Saturday no less) and the tow truck drivers, both of them, who were very prompt and helpfull. Melanie was also an Angel yesterday, right away she went into SUPER MEL mode and started doing what she does best calling people and gathering information.

Angels will show up when you need them you just need to keep your heart open to recognise them.

:wow: Wow, luckily you were able to get to the side before it completely stopped on you. That whole story sounds like a complete mess, but I'm glad that you did have the angels around you to make it better for you. :innocent: I hope the car repairs won't cost you too much, especially in this time when the economy is so bad.

I am glad you made it home safe (F)

Yes, thank goodness for your angels. That is my worst nightmare, breaking down on the interstate miles away from home. Ughhhhhhh. I'm glad you made it home safe and sound.
