Grow up. I'm so sick of hearing that $hit.

all i will comment on that, if your tired of hearing it dont read it

With all due respect Brnid - this has been going on for a long time for Rebecca - she may not sugar coat things, however I have seen it time & time again where if the recipient does not prefer the message posted - attack a timeline? I don't see how that makes any logical sense.

yes most of us know this is not the first time for this, so with respect i and others will just pm the poster and ignore the negative comments again so this one wont be close along with the other one.

PM'ing immigration advise is discouraged on this website.

And it doesn't solve the issue of members attacking other members just because one had better immigration 'luck' than the other.

It wouldn't matter how politely I talked in a thread - if a member decides they don't like my message , they attack the timeline. And I'm not the only person this happens too. It's BS and it needs to STOP.

Rebecca was just pointing out that there are people who have it worse then you. I had it worse then Rebecca, and I remember feeling miserable for the full year I waited for my wife to get her visa (our wait for the interview was as long as for the noa2). But, there are people like the_dip_sticks (see here: http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...owtopic=134772) and gogo who have it much worse. I gasped when I first saw the_dip_sticks story, and prayed we wouldn't end up there, and thank God we didn't.

With all due respect, I don't understand your comment for the following quote:

I hate beating up on you folks about this all the time, but while what many of you are going through right now is unfair, most of you haven't gotten the short end of the immigration stick by any stretch of the imagination.

What would you constitute as unfair? (1) If USCIS continues to post their processing time July 30 for VSC one year, two years, or 5 years from now, they are still within their processing time and by your standard, that is still fair? (2) The fact that USCIS contradicts their own statement both on paper and on the phone system where they "process petition in the order received" but is not practicing it? The process seems so inconsistent in which people filed more recently are being approved before those who submitted prior?. (3) Substantial amount of resources [people, money] has already been invested in the organization with no result on progress.

I have no intention to contradict you, but I don't know if your statement accurately reflects the situation at hand.

Hey I totally agree with you. It just bothers me that someone says they got the short end of the stick but after looking at their timeline it seems they got approved by VSC in 15 days. Wow that is definitly the short end!

SO basically because there are people who have it worse than us the rest should just take whatever USCIS dishes out with ...quiet dignity? It's been 5 months since I sent our papers. Should I sit patiently waiting for NOA2 to drop from the sky? How long should I do that? Are you saying that as long as we have folks like gogo and dipsticks who have been waiting for a year the rest of us should just shut up, be nice little boys and not question the man? Thank you, but no thanks.

I understand that there are a lot of unfair things happening and there are people who are bogged down in the process. But you know what? At least these couples are already together.

To the OP: Unless your case is outside the USCIS posted processing time by a month (so you filed for CR1 in June of last year or for K3 in Nov of last year) the Senator/Congressman can not help you. You will get a canned letter response.

There are a lot of couple and families who aren't together also.

I'm saying look at the averages given on VJ and that'll tell you what's going on. If your case is processing along about the same as other poeple in your same boat at your same service center, then I don't know what else you would like for me to suggest you do besides be patient.

It's not like you can drive to the next office down the street and get better service. USCIS isn't retail and it ain't fast food - it's the only game in town for you to get what you want. If other people are currently experiencing the SAME THING that you are then that is the NORM.

It isn't my fault - or yours - if that isn't FAIR.

In Morocco, it has been suggested by some that establishing a relationship with the congressional liason is a good idea, regardless of whether there is any delay in your case. The idea is that should you receive a 221g with direction to return the petition to USCIS after the interview, the rep is already familiar with the case and already has all necessary release paperwork. It is possible that if they act quickly enough, the return can be prevented. I'm not sure how true this is anymore, since it seems a turnaround has not been successful in quite a while.

Regarding the specifics of contacting your rep, I found the privacy release form on my rep's website and I sent that along with a description of what I had filed for, which consulate I was dealing with, and what the issue was (along with all relevant case numbers, a copy of NOA2, etc). In our case, it had been a couple months after our case left NVC and we had heard nothing about packet 3 or an interview. The consulate would not respond to my emails, and we were well past the typical time to get an interview date (and others who had left NVC after us had already been getting interview dates for weeks). About a week after sending the letter to my rep, I was contacted with an interview date that he was able to get from Casablanca. I can't say with any certainty that they helped, but it did sort of seem that our file may have been overlooked somehow and the rep's involvement really helped us out.

I feel your pain and I just wanted to add one thing. You guys are aware that Vermont is NOT processing I-130's at this time. Yes that is right. Does anyone know when they are going to start back up?

I'm kicking myself for not applying for the I-129 at the same time.

Your state reps can not work miracles, they can often get answers we can not. Mine has been good for me anyway, my case was returned the first time, after a time she got with calif and got them to finally say it was actually now expired and i was free to refile. Now we are having a tax return issue and she has taken that over also. So she can help to help me with problems but not to hurry my case along. I dont belive you stated your requesst, just write to them, they will send u a legal form to allow them to represent you, give them all the details, and whatever it is you want them to do. It may take talking to a few not all will take interest but hoepfully u will find one that will stick with you. Also its been shown on many cases a email fr your rep right before the interview seems to help, those that did this got the visa in most cases, (of course not 100%) but compared to those that didnt it seems worth that little effort. Good luck

I called my congressman, they all should have an immigration specialists on hand, in my case they told me call as much as I wanted and they would do all they could to help. Only problem was you must have a dire need for them to expedite. I was told unless it's a medical condition there is little then can do to help. Since 911 the hands of the congressman are tied is what I was told. My congressman was able to check on my case and make sure that all was good and look for any problems prior to an RFE. Hopefully all states are as willing to help as mine.
