Salam Every body

today was the interview in Cairo (CR1), hmmm just long wait till you reach the consular's window , it was about 5 hours before we asked for the interview. anyways my wife has conducted the interview with me. you may interested to know what happened in these few second.

the consular was a gentleman , once he saw us he just said hello Muhammed if you are him , i said yes this is him , then he turned to my wife and said you must be Rain (my wifes name) so he asked me to swear an oath that all i wrtoe down in my d 230 was correct and accurate. and i sweared ...hmmm and that was the last thing i answered , then he ask how met? and he said you Muhammed can answer or Rain loool thats when my wife cought the leash and answered , that we on line for one year before she decided to come to Egypt?so after that he did ask me anything he would just ask her . so he asked if we married the first time we met the answer was YES, just notice(each time he got the answer he would type on the computer beside him) i think he wasa typing down the red flags . anyways he asked her did you come back after you married ? lool just two seconds when he figured out that shes already here interviewing her (it did not seem i was involved in this issues i was there smiling) so he said obviously you here right infront of me. but she expplained that she came here four times till now , and this time it was for 5 months. ..so here when he stoped asking and said there is no thing wrong with your case everything seems very nice and handed me my passport and the 221g form for AP . than i said the interview just took 5 minutes as we did not excpected, explaining that we got a big bag full of photos albums and phone records and other proofs , you dont need them , you need them only to proof the on going relation ship , but that your wife is here with you , then i already sure of the ongoing relationship. my wife was so excited she was so cute though.and the CO was a very nice Gentleman.

but here my friends i dont understand why he gave me back my passport ? and said we will contact you to send us the passport when your visa is ready . notice we already paid a DHL fee for sending me back the passport with visaa.

SHOULD I BE WORRIED?

Have a Nice Day

Nope, do not worry. They do not always keep the passport, and it sounds like everything went well.

You are in AP, so it could take awhile. Keep checking in with DOS.

221(g) for Administrative Processing AFTER interview means you passed the interview. Now your case goes back to United States where the Department of State will conduct a variety of security checks (name checks, fingerprint checks, etc, etc) to make sure you are not a terrorist or criminal. These checks can take weeks or months until finished. Once they are finished the case gets sent back to the Embassy and the Embassy contacts you to bring in your passport to get the visa stamped inside.

You are 99% complete with the process of getting your visa.

Congratulations.

In your situation, your case does not physically get sent back to the US, it is done electronically. They can order as many checks as they want to, even though you have had them already. Perhaps they are just checking for any new information that MAY have come up, and want to be sure you are clear of everything before issuing a visa.

Keep checking in with DOS and E mail the Embassy.

It is better to call them early in the morning, US time. That way, you will not be put on hold for ever.
