I became a permanent resident on 09/14/2005 based on marriage we are still happily married, so it is almost 3 years now.

For citizenship, In the documents I read it says you should wait 3 years to send them but I also heard and read somewhere else you can send your papers 90 days before the total 3 years of permanent residency.

Which one is right? Should i wait or just prepare the papers and send them?

Another thing is I have never been out of US more than 6 months but I went to vacations outside the country for the total of 120 days ( not at once), do i have to deduct those days to calculate that 3 years? or just the dates are enough...

Thanks a lot again.

Hope everybody is happy...

You could have sent in your N-400 last week and no, you do not deduct the days you were out of the country. You can download Acrobat Reader 8 for free and a fillable N-400 form from the USCI site plus the M-476 manual, scrape up the required evidence and 675 bucks and get to work.

Can also hire an immigration attorney and pay around 1,000 bucks, you still have to do a lot of work, but most IA's can read USCIS that is considerably different than the English Language, wonder if the guys that wrote those forms can pass the English test?
