Sup everybody.

I'm looking for recommendations on places to go for winter vacation.

The parameters are:

1. Sun and surf, not snow.

2. Good eating.

3. Natural beauty more important than nightlife.

4. Safety - we don't want to be stuck within the confines of a resort.

5. No more than a 5 hour flight from Newark.

6. Allows US LPR's to enter visa-free or to acquire the visa at POE.

Thanks.

What about Puerto Rico?

With a 5 hour flight restriction I'm not sure.

Hmmmm. I've never been to PR. Bolivia and Peru but not PR. However, aren't there a couple of people on VJ who are in PR now? Maybe they'll pop in.

I know that my friend went there last Feb and she said it was one of the most beautiful places she's ever been.

Puerto Rico is great.

We stayed in San Juan. You were in the city so you could enjoy the nightlife but there was enough opportunity to take tours (Bacardi Rum Factory anyone?) to nearby attractions, like rainforest, beach etc.

It was February when we went and it was hot and humid. Kinda like NJ is in July/August.

Thanks.

Visa free for LPRs limits you to Mexico, and some of the Caribbean. Visa on arrival depends on the LPR's country of citizenship.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."
