What did u wrote in the application to be accepted right away ?

i did it but they say to wait for a decision :(

I'm not sure what I did to make me get accepted! I thought I would get the usual rejection, actually. For household income, i put what my husband makes. Not sure what else might have differed from you though.

If all else fails, do the secured card thing first - I still might do that too - just to have more credit (to build).

My husband got his Capital One card back in February I believe it was and we pay it off every month. He then started to receive offers from a whole bunch of other companies, many of whom deny him when he first applied with them. A couple of weeks ago he decided to apply for a pre-approved card from WaMu and he was approved for $1,000, checked out his credit score and it's currently at 720.

Another option, for Canadians anyhow, is RBC bank. Since I was a long-term client of RBC in Canada, they had no trouble giving me a bank account, check card, credit card, and line of credit as soon as I walked into the local bank! They just called some number to verify my association with RB Canada, and were more than happy to hook me up down here! I think the credit card started with a 2000. limit, but now it's up to 7500. Baaaaad..... baaaaaaaddd ..... must not shop..... :bonk:

Not sure if there are other international banks that have affiliations with US counterparts, but might be worth checking out.

And I agree with Capital One..... easy to get, not so easy to get rid of!!! Even when I called to cancel the card, the person said "OK, we can do that for you" followed by "We'd like to offer you a new credit card.... " You've got to be kidding???! I think I got a little terse with the guy on the phone. They are relentless.

You can also try Bank of America Secured credit card. All you need is write a check worth $99.00 for a $500.00 credit line. You can apply on their website.

Well, this is good enough to start, right?
