I just saw this post. so anxious! As fast as possible!

I-130 sent 03-28-2008

NOA1(I-130) Received on 04-07-08 contained typo in name (waited 2 weeks for it to be corrected)

I29F sent on 04-27-08

touched (I-130) on 04-17-2008 (From USCIS case updating website).

NOA1(129F) received on 05-05-2008

Touched (I29F) on 06-10-2008

this is the data for my wife's visa so far. I'm really feeling so anxious no these days! Hoping it can be done as quickly as possible!

Oh, I bet! I am really hoping that the journey goes on super fast speed too! It looks like you sent your I-130 the day we found out that we have to start this journey or my husband would be banned from the US for good. They told us he was no longer considered a visitor because we are married and he couldn't enter until we started this process for an immigration or a k3 visa.... so here we are! I wish I had known some of what I know now long before... but there has to be a reason that things are happening the way they are... I just wish I understood it better! lol... As you can probably see in my signature line my husband and I are expecting a baby. It's my fourth, but his first. We are hoping and praying that when he goes to cross the border to be present for the birth we get a compassionate guard. He will only stay 2-3 weeks. We have been planning two, but I haven't bought his ticket here yet, so right before I do, we will have to make the call. Anyways.. keep us posted! I hope it does go very quickly for you!!! :)

Thanks for your kind words. My wife just graduated with her masters, and has to vacate the dorm next month. Now we are looking for a part-time job for her and a temporary room in the meanwhile. From the data on the website, hopefully they are currently processing the forms from march, so that means I hope it can be done by August. So anxious!

I am just curious out of the April, May and June 2008 filers, who has been touched so far?

Well, our 129 was only touched once to tie it to the 130 on 5/22. Our 130 was touched on 5/23, 5/26/ 5/27, and 5/29. Nothing since. I guess that the adjudicators were passing the file around laughing at the pictures we submitted!

I started watching the webpage many times a day after seeing all the touches but after this amount of time with no additional I made up my mind to only look at it once a day from here out.

False hope, kinda like the Lakers jumping out to 15 point first quarter leads, ahem.

uhhh!! you just stabbed me, Longbranch! haha! the entire series was FALSE HOPE!!!

You are welcome! Thanks for the tracker. It is awesome! And as far as the time, I wanted to try and keep them straight and so I did a search and found a couple new ones. Today has been a nice relaxing day for me and this is something that really interests me. Sometimes it's almost like I think if I look around enough that things will "magically" happen faster... lol... but it's so nice to see what is happening with those of us who started this paperwork processing journey. We all started the journey with our loved ones at different times. I have known my husband for 3 years and we have been married for 15 months. I was just wondering about the touching thing and how it relates if it does at all.

blessings,

Shiri

hi Shiri.. there are a lot of other filers similar to our timelines (april/may) but it's a little too much. the ones that will probably update theirs are the ones that post and are interested so i will just put the interested ones in the tracker.. i don't mind putting everybody in but ill just keep it to the interested ones, for now.

i have know my husband for almost 7 years now.. been married only 6 months. i'm kinda "used" the whole long distance thing but it still sucks. at least, he is just "on the other side of the border!" :D maybe you can travel to a town that is bordering both countries and see each other from there! (kidding..)

touches are just when your case is being looked at, based on what everybody is saying here.. "being looked at" doesn't necessarily mean that they are working on it.. to me, i don't care if i ever get any touches just as long as mine gets approved soon. but those "touches" are like "false hopes" that Longbranch was talking about. (they are playing mind games on us.. sssh!! it's a government conspiracy!) :bonk:

hi shiri.. i didn't know there was that many MAY threads... guess you have a lot of time in your hands to find them.. hehehehe.. just kidding! thanks for lumping us all together.. guess there was a lot more than i thought.. maybe ill put them all in our tracker.. basically, i've just placed everyone in there who wanted to be there... so if anybody wants to be added, lemme know!

I was just wondering ... there are so many threads for the April/May/June 2008 filers... is there a particular thread you prefer for us to send people that want to be added or updated for your spreadsheet?

not really, i'm just all over the place too.. the link of the tracker is in my signature anyway so they can click on that and see the tracker.. they can also PM me.

but i tend to stay on the MAY 2008 filer that Rajaa started.. and LizScott also.. wherever there is conversation that i can contribute to, i am there..

Hi thirdsjen! It says in your signature that you came to the Philippines to study. Out of sheer curiosity and if it's okay to ask, which university did u go to? When I was in college, I met lots of exchange students (mostly Japanese and Korean) and Filipino Americans who grew up in the US but came to the Philippines to study and I never got the chance to ask why they chose to study in the Philippines, where the standard of education is somewhat deemed inferior compared to that of Western universities (no matter how prestigious the local university is).

Also, would u happen to know if a case gets automatically "touched" (as reflected in the online portfolio)when u call the USCIS to inquire about the status of your case (even if it's just an automated message?). Thank you so much! =)

hello daisychain!

i did go to the philippines to study what else? NURSING.. hahaha.. so cliche.. but my reasons were purely time and money. we couldn't afford UCLA or any other university unless we had to get some kind of student loan. so my LOLA had this great idea that i should go to school there and she'd pay for it. so within a month of hearing that, i packed up and left. my decision wasn't an easy one but it was something i had to do. the university where i went to is certainly not some big university that you have ever heard of, but it had a college of nursing that has long been recognized as exemplary. that reputation was of course from decades ago but what the heck.. haha.. it's still going to teach me what i need to know.. they told us they trained the the first three graduate nurses of the Philippines.. so they have been there for a long time..

i know of a lot of nurses that graduated from that university and had no problem here in the states. the board of nursing here in california accepted the degree so i just went, knowing that it would be no problem.. i'll get my bachelors, come back, pass the boards, and work.. i'm pretty much on track on that part..

don't underestimate our educational system.. i know a few of fil-ams who went to med school in manila, came back here and are doing just fine. most of it is financial, but our med schools do a pretty darn good job in training doctors.. in fact, my mom's co-worker's daughter went to med school in manila (forgot which university), came back, took the test, and had some of the big-wig magnet hospitals in the east coast fighting over her.. my cousin also went back, she is now a researcher (don't know exactly) in the navy, i believe..

Filipino nurses are still in big demand.. cept the freakin USCIS don't want to give them any visas anymore.. at least in california anyway.. that's a different topic that i'm irked about.

i think it will be touched only if a PERSON physically opens it? i'm not sure.. why, was yours updated after you called? i think you will be approved soon..

hi thirdsjen! i sent you a private message. =)

yeah.. i think i know why the USCIS has stopped issuing visas to Filipina nurses. there was an exam leak in the nursing board examinations a couple of years ago. apparently, a review center leaked exam questions. some countries refused to issue visas to filipina nurses and i believe that everyone had to take the test all over again.

my sister-in-law is in the navy. another sister-in-law of mine is a nurse in california. seems we have so much in common! =) oh and my husband's name is third too. =)

nope, my status wasn't updated after i called. it was updated two weeks after my husband called so *hopefully* a real person did update my case. =) did u read the post about the I-129F that took two years to approve? i got so nervous reading that post. it can happen to anyone. =(

thirdsjen, have u tried applying for travel mileage? my uncle constantly travels from the US to the philippines. he earned so many miles that he was able to book a free first class ticket. is that how you were able to get free tickets? also, please read the new topic i post about how to travel cheap. i was an online travel agent for six months. i hope the info would help you. =)

yup my husband is pinoy. i'm so happy that despite living in the US for several years, he retained all of the filipino cultural values (ie. strong sense of kinship and a strong attachment to his homeland). we never head to deal with cultural disparity issues because he grew up in the province and in fact, eats more filipino food than i do! hehe)

hi choochoo and sweet_peach, i know how you guys feel. i got really panicky when our case hadn't touched for over a month. but i've been perusing other people's timelines. others get approved and don't get touched at all, while others get approved after one touch. no one really knows what happens when they touch an application. it's shrouded in mystery... but sometimes, other people get slapped with RFEs after being touched. so it's one thing to look forward to and to dread. good luck to you guys! hope we get approved soon.
