It's interesting to know "how it all began" for fellow VJers.

We met while I was volunteering during the summer in his hometown. He was working his way through college as a bartender at the only dance place in town. I went out dancing with a friend of mine one night and well... 7 years later it's still great.

We met through an online game called Guild Wars. He was my best friend and my rock while I suffered through a bad marriage and the subsequent divorce. He was the light at the end of my dark tunnel. :)

Our story is similar to this.

We also met playing MMORPG and he was there for me after my 4 yr relationship ended. He felt for me much more than I did for him in the beginning, but in time I felt the same. I think I'm truly blessed for having met him.

Lmao, my boyfriend has in his signature this:

Same thing here  ! His screen name was ima gurl and was the leader of my guild. I always thought he was a woman till later lol.

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.

My husband and I were playing the MMORPG FFXI (Final Fantasy 11). I played a little red-headed Taru named Leilu and my husband played a hume named Nazoom! We started out as friends and became super close and then it went to the next level. We met July or August of 2005 online and we met in person here in the US in July 2006, we got married March 2007 and are now expecting our first baby in less than 9 weeks. He and I never imagined in a million years we would ever date, let alone marry someone we met online and well... we did! He is AMAZING! I miss him so much and hope this whole immigration journey is over quickly and we don't have to be 2000 miles apart any longer!

So many of us gamers here! We could start our own little club! ;) Sometimes it would seem I was the only girl gamer in the USA, but you're making me feel less of an anomaly!

Ivy411, are you willing to admit to which MMO you were playing at the time?

Lili, what guild(s) were/are you in? I don't play anymore (waiting on GW2 beta), but I still keep in touch with my guildies from Moa Birds and Legion of Losers. Either of those ring a bell? I played way too much for awhile and competitively. :P

Sure, but I doubt anyone will know that game. Dofus is a French MMORPG with somewhat (read: totally) kids graphics but a lot of adults play it. My RL friends basically forced me into trying it out. :D

Starting a club for girl gamers? Count me in! :D I know a lot of girls that play games... well at least this game. I met them online, via the game or one forum dedicated to the game. I rarely meet girls that play games IRL though.

My husband is French Canadian and his main language is French, so its' neat that is the type of game you were playing. I really don't know too many girls who play MMORPGs either, but it's neat to know I am not alone at falling in love with someone I met while playing one! :innocent:

lol.. you know how many guys do that? It's so that other guys will help them. People seem to be nicer to girls on the game.... at least the one I played... lol... that's too funny he used that as his actual name!

I met Amby at a swingers party and after hours of non stop nekkid action, we decided to be together forever. But we couldn't do it legally so we decided to find ourselves a fake husband, just so people would think we live a ''normal'' life, and here we are.

 I knew it... Do your husbands know?

She said their husbands are fake ;) Which means Charles is really Nessa...either that, or she got someone else to pretend to be Charles....

yes. they don't really exist. usually if it's not me typing pretending i'm charles its either quitt or nietzsche (our cats) they're extremely smart and they can be as republican as my fake charles can be

 You and Amby had me (and the rest of the VJ community) fooled...

As my sig says, we met on a music forum two years ago. His marriage of ten years was disintegrating badly, and meeting me gave him the strength to put an end to it. We met in person in October 2006, three months after he had legally separated from his wife. Hopefully we'll be able to get married by early fall.

Oh, yes. I was slowly getting tired of telling people that just because we met online it doesn't mean we don't know each other.

Question for onliners - How did people react to you telling them you met online? Did you actually start dating before having met in person, or did that part wait 'till you met? How long was it between the online meeting and RL meeting for the first time?

John and I were feeling lonely and not looking for a commitment when we met in a chat room on our mobile phones called 'Fast Flirting.

I thought he was too young at 26 but his name was Farmer825 and I have always been a sucker for a country boy. And the rest as they say is history.
