I had a crush on Robin when I was a kid. Then someone told me he was gay....

It happened in the October 1986 DC comic, Robin's Secret. Batman and Robin were riding in the Batmobile from the auto shop - Batman just had the seats re-upholstered. Robin took off his glove, glided his hand across the seat and said, "Yummy!"

Sorry this is late but from Page 1, Post 1 - Jabberwocky - Bass Ale??? What on earth were you doing drinking Bass ale??

You're the second VJ'er whose questioned me on my taste for Bass Ale.

Our ex-Prime Minister used to be a fan, but outside of that, I don't know anyone else who drinks it

I love the word "behoove" as well.

I actually used it during a collections call: "Actually sir, it would behoove you to get your payments in on time, so you wouldn't have to talk to me anymore". Cracked my friend up in the next cubicle. He started to keep a list of words that "normal people don't use in real life but Cheryl does" -- it got to be fairly long

Great. My gayness is spreading. Pretty soon every VJ member will be saying yummy and turn gay.

I wonder if instead of "platinum member" my VJ title could read Yumminess Member

Doesn't take me much either. Actually, it doesn't take Patrick much either. He's not a very stereotypical German :)

I have had more to drink in the last year whilst awaiting the K1 than ever before I think. And I spent the better part of my childhood and early adulthood in New Orleans....

...and you use the word 'whilst'??? That doesn't sound Creole to me. :jest:

Yes, but I had to take elocution classes ... we were told by a prof in grad school that it wouldn't matter how smart we were or how many degrees we had; as Southern females we would be seen by some as "incompetent" as soon as we opened our mouths and spoke!!!!

PS I also use "behoove" My students love it!

I like beer. But I prefer mead.

And even more than that I prefer chocolate martinis.....

I love mead  Wish it were easier to find...

Well, we've been slowly stockpiling mead and bringing it from Germany a few bottles at a time (so much cheaper there). But I found these two here in the states:

http://www.honeymoonmead.net/

and

http://www.skyriverbrewing.com/

Thanks! The first doesn't say whether you can order direct and have them ship the mead, but the second one looks very promising, even states that they will ship to CA

I love mead  Wish it were easier to find...

Do you have Ethiopian Restaurants in the area? If so, you can go there and ask for Taj. Good stuff.

Is that mead? I don't know of any Ethiopian restaurants around here, but I wouldn't be surprised if we did have one. I did find one mead brand at our local BevMo, but that's all I've seen locally.

Scott - I don't where you are in the OC, but if you are in LA there are a few good ones serving YUMMY food on Fairfax between Pico and San Vicente.

I did not know Taj and Mead were the same. Learn something new every day.

I'm in south OC, so that would be pretty far for us, about an hour without traffic. Do they have it bottled, or just serve it with meals?

Taj and Meade aren't exactly interchangeable. Meade is simply fermented honey and water. Taj also has fermented hops, so it is still meade, but a specific type of meade.

One thing that makes finding Meade difficult is terminology. Sometimes Meade is called "Honey Wine," meaning it is to honey what wine is to grapes. But often "Honey Wine" isn't actually Meade, but grape wine with honey added as a flavouring. So you really have to be carefull to be sure you are getting what you think you are getting.

I've only had it with meals, but they have a lot of ethopian groceries in the area, so you can probably get it bottled - I'll check next time!

Thanks!
