I don't know how to answer. I've been with my current employer in two distinct blocks of time, separated by employment elsewhere. All together almost 7 years.

Oh and wife, 1 yr.

I've been in this company for 9 months. I initially plan to stay here for good but due to some unfortunate circumstances I would have to quit. I got a promotion but I turned it down.

I'm eyeing 2 bigger companies, one of which already gave me positive feedbacks and an "invitation" for a possible transfer. I wish to leave my current employer as soon as I finish my projects with them, which could take a few more months. I plan to, at least, stay until I have a year of experience.

Fortunately, my USC husband has been with his employer for 10 years.

IMHO, A job is only a job. It is solely a means to create income. If a better opportunity comes along, I would not hesitate to switch. I have had well over 20 jobs in my life. I don't look at an employer in the same light as family and marriage. I have never received a kick out of any job I've had. I give my employer my time and when I leave, for the day, I leave and don't think about them again until the next time I report in. I don't want work friends and don't want to socialize with colleagues outside of work.

Just curious, but what do you do for a living?

Next school year (in the fall) I'll be starting my 4th year at that school so I voted 4-6  . I also do freelance work and I just completed one year with that. Hubby has been at his job for four months. Neither one of us has any plans to change jobs now, but may do so next year.
