No he probably wouldn't have done that if you were there, Steven.

Tuesday night we were in downtown Seattle coming home from a Mariner's game. My son's choir sang the National Anthem at the game the Mariner's won and we were all in good spirits.

As we (me, my sister, my son and daughter) walked to our car (about 8 blocks from the field) we passed in front of a parking lot. This guy in a HUGE (and unnecessary) SUV comes barreling through the parking lots with all 378275832 lights on the SUV on high beams and lays on the horn. Since the street was to my left, my daughter was to my right, closest to the parking lot. Scared the ever-loving poo out of us. And the guy never let up on his horn. My daughter was shaking and when we passed him, I turned around and stared at the driver. The passenger window was down and couldn't help myself and yelled "DUDE!!!! THERE ARE KIDS AROUND!!!" Probably wasn't very menacing, but I was pissed off and my daughter was shaking and near tears. A$$hat said "#### you and your kids." He was obviously drunk, and some guy in a car across the street from us yelled "A$$hole" to him (which was funny).

So there's no accounting for some people. I mean, Seattle's a pretty tame town but there are jerks everywhere.

Oh Jen, sorry that happened to you. I've noticed a lot of drivers in parking lots acting really aggressive, like zooming through with no care whether a pedestrian is walking by. I don't know if it's true, but was always under the impression that parking lots are private property and therefore it's less likely that a cop will give a citation to someone for driving recklessly in parking lot.

I am sorry she had to go through that (F)

did she get his license plate number??

No...she just said to guy, "Are you crazy?" and he laughed. There were witnesses. Next time something like that happens, I said she should take down his license plate and call the police....that's harassment.

a very wise idea... some cops LOVE putting dillholes like these in their place.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

reminds me of an incident I had a few days ago.. I was in the back of our place taking stuff out of the car... there is a little alley that runs along side our building and around the back... when this car comes tearing around the corner off the street and barrels past me.. I nearly jumped out of my skin.. and then 2 seconds later another car does the same thing... I noticed the window was open as it drove past and I screamed really loud.. "slow the heck down!!" I don't usually scream like that ...lol

it freaked me out because sometimes kids play in that alley and also what if another car had been coming from the other direction... yikes :wacko:

Hmmm, I didn't know that about parking lots. Of course this was the Safeco Field lot so maybe so.

The sad thing is that I'm also certain that, just like if you'd been with Jinky and baby, if Patrick had been with us the guy wouldn't have tried it. Who wants to mess with a 6'2" German? :)

Hopefully there won't be a "next time" but I agree with Marilyn on the license plate thing.

I carry my video camera on my hip. I can have it running in 8 seconds. I pulled it out on a smart a$$ Security Guard the other night. It was the most amazing adjustment of an attitude I have ever witnessed.

But they will for yelling at someone? I know the guy was an a$$hat, but is that REALLY harrassment? If that's the case I need to make a police report against the drunk yesterday who called yelled at me for being a stupid b*tch because he couldn't stagger his way fast enough to catch the bus he wanted, which I didn't, but which I was passing in front of when it pulled away. I guess he wanted me to flag it down for him... oi!

I suppose in my case I could have reported the guy as suspected drunk. I was too worried about my daughter to get the license plate number though.

I think we just need to accept that there are a great deal of obnoxious losers out there....

I think it depends on the situation. If someone yells from a car to a pedestrian to shut up, I'd say that could be interpreted as a threat...particularly a man yelling at a woman.
