Hey Vjs, I am filling the AOS forms, I have some questions about it.

Should I fill with my new last name (married)in the blanks that say FAMILY NAME? In Every form (I-485, I-131, I-765, I-864)?

I went to the Social Security Office, they told me that to change my last name, I need to wait until I receive the green card? is that true?

Help me please

God bless everyone!!

i used may married name as last name in all forms...

then i put my single name in the other name used....

yup if u already got ur SSN card with ur maiden name, u can change it with ur married name after u will get EAD or greencard..

Some state is not strict.. like here in NC, i applied SSn after we got married so that I can use my married name.. there's no problem with them... I got my SSN in the mail after 2 weeks with my married name.

Goodluck

If you are adopting your husband's last name, yes you have to fill it out w/your new last name.

About the Social Sec. office? Yes, that's true, after EAD or Green card arrival. Also after receiving your green card you have to go again to remove the legend "Valid for work with USCIS authorization" and get a new SS Card without it.
