I am REALLY confused. On the USCIS webpage it clearly states " If you have not received a decision within

90 days of receipt by USCIS of a properly filed EAD application you may obtain interim work authorization by appearing in person at your local USCIS District Office" And when I made an infopass appointment one of the criteria to choose from was "my EAD has been pending for over 90 days" and the appointment notice says "Appointment: Interim EAD"

So why are people posting on my other thread saying they dont exist anymore?

Maybe I am wrong but what I believe people have been indicating is that you can no longer go directly to the local office in order to avoid the 90 days... This practice ceased a couple years ago....

My EAD took over 100days before it was approved, so I made an Infopass appointment at my local office and I was told they no longer give out Interim EAD. Instead the IO emailed the NBC on my behalf to expedite the process since it's over 90days and within a week I got the approval email saying EAD card ordered............ I don't know about your local office they may and the may not give you the Interim EAD...

The local offices used to create the interim EADs. They no longer do this. They are all produced out of NBC/MSC now, so when someone comes in requesting such - they simply make an inquiry to NBC/MSC (also where your original application sits!) and generally the regular EAD is forthcoming.

Well its better than nothing. At least if I cant get the EAD in my hand on that date hopefully they will put in a request to make it happen ASAP. As long as SOMETHING happens.
