60 to 90 or 60 to 180 days?

On our NAO1 that came in the mail it said it's taking up to 60 to 180 days to process this type of case. However, on our online case status it states that it's taking up to 60 to 90 days. I was wondering if anyone has the same situation and I am concerned that this might be delaying our approval. Our NOA1 was dated Feb 8th but no approval yet :( I am going to call the NVC today.

Thanks,

Kiny

I would suggest that you call or e-mail USCIS. I submitted my 129F on the same day you did and I received my NOA2 via e-mail on May 9 (this week). HOWEVER, I see that you are going through Vermont and I was going through Califonia. Vermont is usually AlOT faster than California.

I am sorry to say but maybe you got caught in "security check" delays. This could happen if you or your fiance's name get's a 'hit' on the security system. Do you have common last names???

Call them or e-mail them......they should be able to tell you why the delay!!!! :(

I have a question on this. Where does it tell you on-line how long they are taking? On my notice that I received in the mail for K-1s it was 80-110 days through Nebraska. I have been trying to see it on-line but having trouble finding that.

Thanks!

kiny,

The 'it's taking' estimates are meaningless. Ignore them unless you get off on being worried about nothing.

A better indication of how long things are taking at any point in time is to look at the processing date and add 30 days, the amount of time allowed to process a case before it is considered overdue. (But recognize that if a case gets hung-up in an IBIS check then overdue no longer applies.)

Yodrak

On our NAO1 that came in the mail it said it's taking up to 60 to 180 days to process this type of case. However, on our online case status it states that it's taking up to 60 to 90 days. Have you registered for Case Status Online updates with the USCIS website? When you look at your portfolio online & click on whichever petition (I-130 or I-129F) it will bring up a screen that looks like your NOA1 and gives an average processing time for that particular petition. In my case, the time matched the time given on my NOA1.

Why would one call the NVC when one's case is still within USCIS at the NBC?

As Yodrak stated.......ignore the processing times....they are ESTIMATES.

NBC is currently stating they are process petitions with a receipt date of Feb 21.....yours is dated Feb 8....it is still within the timeframe and it states clearly.......

When Can I Call The National Customer Service Center?

If you filed your case 30 days or more before the date shown on the chart, and you have not received a request for evidence, a decision, or another notice in the last thirty days, please call our National Customer Service Center at 1-800-375-5283.

Until then they will not tell you anything except that your case is still being reviewed. Even when a petition is 30 days past the processing date listed for NBC, on calling you will more then likely get the response....your case is still under review, please call back in another 30 days....or something along those lines. If you are unfortunate enough to be held up with security checks, again there is nothing that you can do....and there is nothing that a congressman/senator can do. They do not have the authority to have a case expediated when undergoing security checks. End of story. Some say that their senator has been able to assist in these circumstances.....pure coincidence. In fact enquiring on a petitions status can very well pull it out of processing because of the enquiry, hence delaying it even further. There was some anecdotal evidence of this within the archived threads from memory.

I know that no one likes the word patience....but thats all you can be......it will happen. One really cannot compare one case with another with processing times.......one can only use it as a guideline.

Everyone should have a read of the thread below....scrolling down to posts my meaxenu and also the links within her posts. It applies to all centers.
