I've been in a total funk this week. I'm in Farmington, MO

well that could do it......... :hehe:

Ever see the movie Deliverance???? I'm scared down here! I was just approached by what my mom says was a cousin. They wanted to check out "that there puter." My brother was standing behind Homar (don't know his name) and was making faces at me. I start laughing and Homer dude gets a very serious face and said "Yur sure gots some purdy teeth thur. Hows ya git yer teeth so white?" WTH? It's called a tooth brush and dental visits cuz.....seeing you don't have many teeth......I'm thinking you don't need one! Yeah, I got the evil eye from mom on that comment.

I was thinking about staying here till tomorrow morning, but I'm outta here after the funeral. I think I need to keep a journal of what these people say and do today so if i ever decide I want to move down here.....I can refer back to my notes! LOL!

Joel and I live a mere 30 minutes from where parts of that movie were filmed. Everytime we go hiking along the AT (Appalachian Trail) we say if we hear a banjo playing we are going to RUN..not walk..to the car. ;)

I have felt the same way as you about MY family. I remember asking my beloved mother once "Are you SURE I'm not adopted or maybe placed in the wrong crib at the hospital?" She would laugh and say "Yes sweetie, you ARE mine...I was there". I still think I'm adopted. :D

My own father used to drill that in my head when I was a little kid that I was adopted. I wasn't. Sadist.

Don't just open your mouth and prove yourself a fool....put it in writing.

It gets harder the more you know. Because the more you find out, the uglier everything seems.

Oh...I apologise...I wasn't trying to upset anyone. :( It's just that with who I am and who most of my family are, I really don't fit in. I am the ONLY one that embraces my ancestry and ethnic background...I am very proud of who I am and where I come from. :)

No need to apologize. I took no offense whatsoever in your post.

Don't be silly!

I went through this period in my teens when my extended family really embarrassed me. I really felt so disconnected from them all and I just "divorced" myself from them. Later I learned to appreciate my ancestry and heritage and the wonderful things about my family and am now very proud. Some of them are just as odd as always and that is NOT going to change.

well, I'd like to say Happy Friday but today its just "hi, its Friday". I guess I can be thankful that I got to wake up today (F) .

House had another leak so plumber went yet again and fixed that mess. Hopefully it will pass inspection so it can be sold soon.

I want to go be with Jackie this weekend and go to the funeral but I can't get off work :( Jackie, I'm thinkin of ya and thank you so much for not giving the business to the rude lady.

I also agree that drunk drivers suck. Actually I have a few "choice words" that I'm not allowed to say here so I'll just stick with "drunk drivers suck" for now.

Please tell everyone u love, that u love them today.

I love all of you very much.

Jackie, they were hit by drunk driver? That makes it worse:(

Yep can't help who your relatives are. Although sometimes a bit of distance is good:)

And yes, midwesterners can be bad, lol My family I wonder if they have screws loose sometimes. But in KY.....I worked with a guy who had that look about him that made me and other people think he had incest in his family. He was a nice guy but kinda odd.

And OMG if you think they are bad when they are hidden from sight, wait until the tractor pulls or demolition derbys! When one is coming up, you better run to nearest civilization. they are as afraid of big city lights as vampires are to sun. So if you go to NYC, that is your safest bet:) I worked at a pizza place for a job filler in KY. Everytime there was a dem derbry or tractor pull, this family would come out. And you could tell instantaneously that they had not been around a civilization beyond a herd of cattle since the last dem derby or tractor pull! They were way too touchy feely, way more than a family should be anyways...
