Is this for a K1??hopefully, it will reach there soon, they dont stay long at the NVC ( at least most of the time). :time:

By the time we reveived the NVC letter in the mail, the file was already at Casa. I would e-mail the consulate directly with the NVC number , names of the petitioner and beneficiary, and birthdates. NVC can;t tell you if its at the consulate, just if it has left.

The consulate had our petition within a week from the letter from NVC (for a K-1 visa). I emailed Casa and asked about the appointment date. I emailed on a Friday morning and on the followign Tuesday they replied with the interview date and that the packet had been mailed to my husband (then fiance).

If they do not reply, wait a few days and email again. My experience is that they will not reply if they do not have an answer fo you.

The e-mail address I used was : IVCasablanca@state.gov

here is what I asked

I am inquiring about my I129F petition filed on behalf of my fiance {his full name] which was forward to Casablanca by the National Visa Center . the case information is as follows:

CSB#########

Beneficiary's name: {full name of the person wanting the visa]

Beneficiary's date of birth: ##/##/19##

I would like to know if an interview date been assigned? If so when?

Thank you for you time.

{signed my full name on the petition}

ALSO be sure to put the petition number and beneficiary's name in the subject heading. Notice that NVC fives you a different number than USCIS did. USE the new NVC number.

Here is the webpage of the US consulate in Casa with the e-mail addresses. Though a K-1 is considered a non-immigrant visa by the State Department. At Casa the immigrant visa division handles the K-1. (at least that is who responded to our email)

http://casablanca.usconsulate.gov/visa_status.html

ivcasablanca@state.gov

Edited to add...Try not using the link to send an email. Just open your regular email and use the address.

Good luck!
