Well i did an inquiery today, i called resident commissioner Luis Fortuno's office and they have a guy that specifically deals with these types of cases, although its one of his first as he said he doesn't receive hardly any calls about it. His assumption is that the general public just don't know about this other means of help.(Remember that i live in Puerto Rico)

However, when i started to talk to him about it, he knew who to call, and what websites to go to, so i gave him my case number, social security number, type of visa and my situation.

So here goes! lets see what can happen! wish me luck! thanks!

Goodluck Aussielad!!

I emailed 2 Senator's and one congressman yesterday. Hoping they will be able to fix Sydney's mistake. I am still trying to correct their error a year later!

:help:

11-05-06 Sent I-130 to California

06-01-07 INTERVIEW

06-04-07 Received VISA in the mail. Silly Consulate issued me CR-1 instead of IR-1, no time to change it in Australia, will try to change it once in California.

06-10-07 POE SFO

06-21-07 Receive SSN#

07-12-07 Receive Green Card in the mail STILL HAD CR1 INSTEAD OF IR1

12-10-07 Finally sent I-90 asking for a new green card with correct info.

06-17-08 INFOPASS - Was told USCIS sent new green card to old address back in Jan. Will resend it but may not be able to correct error as it was made by Consulate not USCIS.

What to do now??

Good luck. But is your case is outside of normal processing times? Seems that priority date for VSC is April07 and you sent in Sept. Or I am missing something?

Somebody (as far as I remember from Germany) on this forum wrote about contacting senator which has aggrevated CIS later. Would you please explain who is the "resident commissioner"? Thanks

a resident commissioner, is like a senator, because Puerto Rico isn't a state, its a territory, so it's the closest thing we have here.

And no, im not out of time frame, HOWEVER, im due to file citizenship in August, and that might cause a problem when they collide if the I-751 isn't ajudicated.

Lawyer said that they would sit on N-400 till I-751 is approved. Or sometimes they approve both at the same interview. My impression that CIS would not approve N-400 if there is no final decision on I-751.
