I recently came across this post..... I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on it.

Another reason for a medical RFE.... you are required to have a TB skin test, not just the X-RAY test done in other countries. We got an RFE because of this, so make sure to send the results of a skin TB test if you have not done so already.

My husband never had a tb test or blood test at his medical examination. We are ready to adjust staus, and are going to have Dr. Arnold in texas to complete the vaccination supplement.

Should he go and have a tb test and blood work done? Or will the vaccinations that he received at his medical be enough?

So confused.

Thanks

neither have I undergone a tb skin test on my medical, it was just an x-ray. Blood test are required for HIV and drug test which should be done during the medical for visa. Are there any note attached/written on his vaccination form that he needs to comply after arriving here in US? If none, then he just need the supplementary copy of his vaccination.

Good luck!

I just had my TB test (just a little ####### under the skin) in addition to blood tests for HIV and Syphillis DESPITE the fact that I had these tests done in London 6 weeks ago! Apparently blood tests are needed if your last test was over 4 weeks ago. My Doctor said this rule was changed at the beginning of April and showed me documentation to prove it.

Another $350 towards the cost of this process. Oh well.

We had to redo our medical. I think that it has to do with the requirements being different for the visa than they are for AOS. My husband was not given a TB test at the visa medical and was given only one round of immunizations with no proof of other shots. AOS requires the TB test, and possibly additional vaccines.

Just starting the journey, haven't yet filed... Until today(2/12/07)!

No there is no note attached to the visa or anything saying that he needs to get the tb test and blood work. I have went to the USICS web site and I have also read post on here saying that things have changed with the I693 form. The centers for disease control are saying that a person now needs to have a tb test and blood work completed as well as all the rest of the vaccines etc. (which my husband allready has).

noone can seem to answer my question or shed light on this matter. I keep getting conflicting answers. We do not know if my husband shoulg go and get the tb test etc. (going by the new info. on the I 693 directions, or just take the vaccines that he currently has and have them put on the vaccination supplement form).

Do we or don't we? Do we submit the I 693 WIthout the tb test and blood work? Are we prone to get an rfe? Please please somene advise us....

We need clarification.

Thanks

The civil surgeon said us at the phone, that i need a TB skin test, i insisted with him and told him that USCIS need only that the civil surgeon put all my vaccination on the I-693.

When we met, he was so glad to practise his french with me, he didn't ask me for the Tb test, i showed him that i already had the chicken pox disease (without the immunisation).

So he fill out all the papers, I send all and never received a RFE.

I have my biometric appointment on the end of this month- it was in the starting of june.

Maybe some workers at USCIS don't know what are the rules- I noted that some people received a RFE for the TB test, some, no.

Good luck

My wife also didnt have a TB skin test during the medical for K3 visa. I didnt get RFE for I485 but during the AOS interview the adjudicating officer said that we would need a new I693 submitted; for uscis to approve the Green Card. The vaccination supplement (I693A) was okay so we didnt retake any vaccinations but we had to retake all the blood tests and TB skin test (costs us $225 here in NC).
