In-N-Out Burgers are great!

Too bad it's a west-coast thing. :(

Too true.

The east-coast has White Castle, which kinda compensates...

I'm still trying to figure out how Harold and Kumar had such a hard time finding a branch in NJ.

NPH should be the spokesman for White Castle ;)

I haven't seen that movie but I have watched that scene and it is hilarious!

I don't like White Castle as much as In -N- Out.

I don't know how this company has manages to stay regional. It seems like they would be expanding east. They blow the traditional burger joints out of the water

if by traditional you mean McD's and Wendys and Burger King then yeah I agree with you... but nothing beats one of those burgers from a mom and pop kind of diner .. yum... and Carls Jr burgers are slightly better then In-N-Out  at least at the Carls Jr we go to...

This is kind of funny... ever since I got here I've been meaning nto eat at In-N-Out... there's one right by my office. But the idea of fast food when the sun is out, or when I have work to do, or when I'm not at least drunk doesn't seem very appealing, even though it is a better version of fast food. Maybe I'll have it for lunch today... never know... PS to whoever said they wouldn't come out here in the summer, San Diego will be in the low 70s all week next week. :) Better than NYC in the summer for sure...

Yeah I couldn't hack a burger in the height of summer. Probably the worst thing to eat - fatty, stodgy food that weighs you down and makes you sweat.

Carls Jr is a West Coast thing too, right? I live around the corner from one of those, but I remember "Fast Food Nation" and since that was the first place I heard of Carls Jr. I associate that restaurant with the book.

I agree... but I am left to conclude that most San Diegans do not share that feeling, because there are approximately four thousand drive-thru restaurants in my area, all serving junk. It's like, if you're going to eat that, can't you at least get out of the car to retrieve your lard-encrusted sandwich?

The only other quick option in my area seems to be taco stands and a few Vietnamese and Chinese stands, a sort of drive-thru without the sit-down area concept. So far I haven't really been eating meals, just grazing on stuff I bought at the grocery store.

LA has that too - but I expect that will change as the gas prices really start to cut into people's budgets. They'll either scale back the eating out - or the more unlikely option is that they'll ditch the car and actually walk to the restaurants.

A triple pound baconator isn't particularly appetising after a half hour slog in the heat.

You really feel it too huh?

Doesn't make me sick as much as slog me down... any time of year.

Nevertheless if the means justifies the end... then I'll try it. I just stay clear of the big chains with non-beef as beef.

Anyone like Fuddruckers?

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.
