I'm just wondering about the online case updating. As y'all know, I was interview for AoS and approved on Monday (June 16), got an approval letter, a temporary passport stamp, and was told to expect the greencard in the mail in 3-4 weeks. With great anticipation, I've been checking the online status of my cases to see the oh-so-coveted "card ordered" notification. I also signed up for email updates. And yet my case STILL show as such:

Application I485: Current Status: Response to request for evidence received, and case processing has resumed. (last updated Sept 21, 2007)

Since I never received any online/email updates for the interview notice (just the snail mail real version), I'm guessing that I don't have anything to worry about? Yet others seem to get the "card ordered" email the day after approval. Have others been in the same boat as me, where you got approved and everything sailed along, but without getting emails or online updates?

I know that getting the actual greencard is really all that counts, but after this long process, it would be nice to get all the little confirmations! As Sally said in 'Charlie Brown's Christmas' : "I just want what I have coming to me... all I want is my fair share."

it's a cat and mouse game

I wouldn't be surprised if I jump of a cliff from anticipation

I haven't had any touches since they entered the files in the system, not even after the biometrics

I got the stamp at the interview, and told I was approved. My case on-line wasn't updated until about 3 days before I got my GC in the mail. It's only been a few days since your interview, so I'd wait a bit! You have your stamp, so you're good to leave the country, look for work, get a new SSN card...so just carry on! My GC took only about 8 days to get to me. It might be a week or a month before it comes.

Well guess what? I got the "card ordered" email last night! Woohoo!! So approval & stamp = June 16, card ordered June 20. The commical thing is when I check my case online, it shows that both the I-130 and I-485 were updated on June 20........ the I-485 says "card ordered", and the I-130 says "info received and case has resumed". I guess you really can't put too much weight into how they update things online! Too funny!! But at least my card is on the way, which is awesome!!

our AOS was at the local office and never once did the status change until it showed "Card Production Ordered".

It really does seem to be hit and miss as to who actually gets updated online; add to this the fact that the updates that do get posted are not necessarily in the order they actually occured, and it's no wonder so many of us are biting our nails, holding our breath, and pulling our hair out waiting for SOME sign that things are progressing in our favor!! They ought to put a disclaimer on the USCIS website that says "We might update you..... or we might not!" :hehe:

The email said to allow 30 days for the card to arrive, but it seems folks get them a lot quicker than that. Any idea how long it might actually take?

Thanks!

Take it from me (I was a habitual "checker-of-touches") guys...

The less you check on the touches, the better. I know it's much easier said than done, but if I were to do it all over again, I'd just sit back, and wait. They don't touch files often. The most touches that occurred in my case, was AFTER the fact I got my conditional residency.

Prior to that, my case wasn't touched for 8 months.

My interview was in St. Louis, and my card production came from Lee's Summit, in MO. It took me about 7 working days to get the card. Congratulations on the email...just a matter of days now!

I had an email saying "card production ordered" waiting for me on the same day I had my interview - the officer that interviewed me said the green card should be sent out within 2-6 weeks.

I only looked for touches every month or so - checking every day would have been totally frustrating!!!!

Thank you! Yup, instead of checking the USCIS website daily for updates, I can now check my mailbox daily for the real thing! Oh, the anticipation!!!!
