I was just looking on the USPS site because I wanted to see how much it is going to be to mail off this package to Canada when I saw these boxes you can get "Priority Mail Box Flat Rate" ...

it says you can put up to 20 lbs in the box and it will cost about $24 to ship to Canada or Mexico and $40 to all other countries.. 6 to 10 average business day delivery to major destinations

they have different size boxes, 11" X 8.5" X 5.5" , 11-7/8" x 3-3/8" x 13-5/8" , "12.125" x "13.375" x "2.75"

they have a larger box that costs about 30 dollars to ship to Canada and Mexico and $50 to all other countries.... 12” x 12” x 5-1/2” .. still only allowed up to 20lbs though

you can order them online but you have to order a minimum of 10 boxes.. of course the boxes are no charge though...

I am not sure if this is a new thing or not... I just don't recall them having flat rate boxes and envelopes available for International delivery before...

Yes, they have had them for at least a year, possibly longer. I have used them to send 'care packages' to our grandchildren in Texas and stuffed in as much in as we can. I looked at the ones for Canada but unless you really stuff it full, it is expensive. I am annoyed that they have done away with parcel post to Canada and basically First Class International or Priority mail are the only options. Last Christmas - the first one for which they didn't have parcel post - I looked at those for sending my gifts to Canada, but what I had to send wouldn't fit and to send at the cheapest other option was going to be nearly $150 - for what had cost (about the same weight) $42 the year before! So I used UPS and got everything there faster for $28.

The boxes are free - you can pick them up at no charge, put your stuff in them and then they send it off at a one rate for the box. There doesn't seem to be a weight limit for within the US or else I didn't reach it with our last 'care package' to Texas:-).

there is a weight limit of 20 lbs if you are shipping the flat rate boxes internationally...

i try and buy small things anyways.. so those boxes are perfect..

the box was smaller then I thought but I managed to squeeze most of the stuff into the box and some nice lady even let me use her tape..

cost 30 bucks to ship it...
