Hello. My case is a little tricky and i'm trying to simplify things. After a long wait, including namecheck delays, I was approved in February 08. I got the approval letter and also a temporary stamp from my local Washington, DC, office. Throughout my whole journey, the online status check has never been updated. It's always stated that my fingerprints are being reviewed and that my case is continued. But there was, i think, a slight change this week. (I say i think because i had given up checking the thing and can't remember the original wording.) The case status now says that fingerprint review is finished and that the case is at their Vermont Service Center. This seems like it could be good news. Am i right in thinking that the local office reviews a case, and once complete then forwards it to the main service center for card processing/finishing touches. This is what i am trying to make myself believe. I really want this thing over. I still can't believe i've been waiting since March 2005!

Has anyone got an insight or encouraging word?

Yep, the card production centers are located in CSC, and possibly in VSC too. The card is quite complex, so the production is only at a service center.

Cousin of mine developed the new cards. The process isn't horribly complex, but . . well, there you go.

The best thing you can do for it is make an InfoPass appointment, inquire within, then contact your Senator and ask for information, then contact the Ombudsman if yo uget nothign decent from the Senator.

good luck

I am not a lawyer. I am familiar with the immigration process, but any questions I answer are not advice or represented as being true for your situation in any form or manner. I am not liable if you read what I have written and act upon it. Do your own research, ask an attorney for assistance, and make up your own mind. Nevertheless, I may attempt to answer questions from time to time to give you an idea of what to search for in finding out your answer.

My wife and daughters' cards came from NBC in Lee's Summit, MO.
