I have always been very very white, even had a doctor look at me and said he had never seen so one so pale. I HATE IT WITH A PASSION, I took my German father’s color, I would give anything to have some color. It looks better to me, I think dark skin is hot, pale not. Lol Oh and I would love to have some eyebrows, I have none, I am pretty hairless also, so just like Mona Lisa, no eyebrows. Funny we always want what we don't have

From what I have heard, men that live in 3rd world countries have an image of people with more financially as being larger in stature(I assume that is based on the ability to buy food).

My husband doesn't care for skinny women, but he is not into larger women either. Kind of middle ground. He also loves tall women. He told me how happy he was when he first saw me at the airport and I towered over all of the women. Not that I am that tall really, only about 5'8". He has for all of his life dreamed of marrying a blonde woman however. And he got that thanks to miss clairol.

I have also noticed that middle eastern men are into women with really big eyes and rounder faces.

It seems that the majority of American men prefer ultra thin tiny women. Do you guys notice that too?

I am not sure if my husband would like me saying this sooooo if he comes across this (HI baby!!! just talkin' to the girls) phew anyway... i agree middle of the road not too thin not too heavy he calls it "strong" lol. I'am also told ARabic men like their gals with some junk and hamdolah I provided that for mine. hehe.. I have dark long hair (again Love you babe just the girls) and blue eyes.. and lite skin... I've noticed while there even in hijab they find the contrast interesting...

but I think all in all even here in the U.S. men like to look at the skinny models but they want a girl that can live and be healthy... am I wrong??

The judge who married us, kept talking about my round face and how its shaped like the moon and round round round.. i was just thinking enough already.. i get it my face is round, you dont have to make fun about it! Then my husband said later, why didnt you thank the judge instead of just saying nothing? I was like.. thank him for making fun of me? then he explained the whole round faced thing lol

Its all very interesting from culture to culture.

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

There are definitely cultural definitions of beauty. In Indonesia having darker skin is associated with village life or manual labor. Especially around Jakarta, there are many spas that offer skin lightening treatments.

Contrast this with the US, where some women will spend a day or two a week at the tanning salon. Having tanned or darker skin is considered exotic.

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

in Mexico light skinned women or with more caucasian features are considered more attractive than browner women.. which is kinda effed up.. for example, Eva Mendez in Mexico is not considered hot, because she looks too 'native'.. which in other countries (and I do too think that) she's hawt..

but also depends on personal preference.. Me, I don't like skinny girls.. I like wide hips.. and noticeable rib cage or shoulder bones is a total turn off

Would you think it's fair to say that "browner" or deeper skin tones are more common in MX? I've always thought beauty, to a certain extent, is an ideal that is uncommon in whatever culture it comes out of. So in Jordan where my Dh is from, they have the capacity to be darker and are often darker than, say an average Brit... and blonde hair is uncommon.. and anything people think is "striking" or "beautiful" is not common or has to be worked for. I noticed skin-bleaching soaps and creams abounded. I also noticed a lot of lead-based makeup and a huge desire of women to pain themselves white if they couldn't be white! It was kind of geisha :) You're the opposite of my Dh. He likes the hourglass shape but prefers some bones to show. He himself is pretty thin too-- at 6'2" he's 160lbs.

None of my posts have ever been helpful. Be forewarned.

A lot of those skin-bleaching soaps I saw in the Middle East were from India. It just seems so harsh and dangerous! I imagine the same can be said for tanning though. They also had virginity soap. They pretty much have a soap for everything. I want millionaire soap!

Just reading this thread, and I surely can't speak for any culture but my own. As far as personal appearances go, I think American's and Canadians are pretty much on par for thoughts and beliefs about thin vs heavy. I'm a plus size woman, and I just wanted to throw this into the fray....I find a lot of men and women who are "older", have much less of a "ideal" body image of who they might be interested in. I have a few gf's that recently fell in love, with men who they have mentioned, when younger, they might never have given a second glance to. I think for those women who are my age, and in my same social group, and from my country, "looks" aren't as important anymore. We all know so much more about life now, and that what's inside is the ultimate love. The purest and truest love is found above the shoulders....

But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

True. People who spend most time outside considered from the lower classes (the royal fam barely set foot outside except armed with umbrella). But these days, they take it to the next level. Almost all beauty products has whitening in it. They even had whitening cream for underarm.

On the other hand, my husband is so proud of his summer tan.

About the weight, it is never preferable to be on the heavy side.
