How long for a late return to show up on the transcript, once filed?

do i still need a copy of my trascript?

It is difficult to get a transcript for a tax return that was never filed.

Returns that were filed on or about April 15th are expected to be available around June 30. So it appears to be 2.5 mos. +/-

YMMV

I would suggest that you include a short letter explaining why you didn't work for those years in your I-864 application. If you are now currently employed, a letter from your employer stating your pay, how long you've been with the company etc. will show that you are collecting an income. And, of course, all of the relevant information for your sister-who is your co-sponsor- will be necessary.

Good luck! :)

PS: Also be aware that, at the interview, the consular officer does have the right to ask for information beyond what you had shown in your I-864 application. So, you may want to consider sending your husband updated financial information (i.e. bank statement, asset statements, letters of employment etc) for his interview.

If I were you, I'd attach a short note indicating your income has been too low or zero during the past X time frame because you've been living with your spouse abroad. As such, you were not required to file a tax return. Please see my sister's I-864 submitted as a qualified sponsor. Of course, file an I-864 of your own.

Shaman.. did you file 2 I-184's? one for yourself (even if u aren't working) and the other for your sis (cosponsor)?

I dont think you can send that letter now since you've already mailed the AOS. When they receive your packet, if they can't figure out by your I-184 that you aren't working, then they might issue an RFE to ask for further docs or clarification.
