Good Morning,

I have read some forum topics, and have a slight idea but want some more in-sight as to what I should do. I am married to a US citizen (she actually has dual) and we have 2 kids together. We are looking to live in a border town in the US and me continue to work in Canada, thus commuting every day back and forth. I have a good job and don't want to leave it but we just can't get in to the housing market at this time. The prices of housing and with our current CDN dollar being about par, it makes sense for us. However, what visas should I go for right away so I can see my wife and kids as much as possible? I know that I'm going to have to be away for some of the time, but I was hoping it would be just a day or two away, then visit for a day, away for another, then "visit" on the weekends. Does this make sense?

Any feedback/help would be greatly appreciated.

Check out the DCF option - once you get the visa you would be able to move to the US and commute back and forth to Canada. This option requires your US sponsor to have legal status in Canada as well. Other visas would probably require a period of separate residences as you would not be allowed to live in the US until you had the visa.
