I hate thinking about things like this...well doesnt everyone. Before my husband left for Palestine last year, he mentioned something about him dying. I dont remember what brought the conversation on, but I could not deal with it then. I said "no habibi I dont awnt you to die!" He said "everyone dies you know. it is not in our hands. Whenever Allah wants us he takes us."

Sounds ominous. I hope he's not thinking of doing something stupid, like blowing himself up.

What? 1) Palestinian, 2) Talking about dying, 3) Mentioning Allah in the same sentence.

I am thinking about writing a will and also somekind of paper (forgetting the name right now) that is recognized in 50 states and would give my hubby all medical decision power if i was incacipitated.

I would like to sign up for life insurance and put my hubby as beneficiary but we are moving back to Europe in couple of years and it complicates things.

Since Allah is just a foreign language word for God, even if it's used primarily by Muslims, that's a really dumb thing to say. If he said the English "God" would he not be joked about as a suicide bomber anymore? Yeah I know you said you were joking. Too bad most people didn't laugh and I think palilover was much more gracious to you than I would have been had you said something so idiotic about my SO. Especially in this thread, which was started after a sad thing happened to a member and sparked thought on this very tough topic. Not a great time for jokes in this thread IMO.
