Now that I'm home from work I can reply.

Firstly, thanks to all who gave your support and I'm sure if my husband knew about this thread, he would thank you too:)

Someone brought up the idea that I was vague in my description and could not remember the exact wording of our conversation, and maybe that had led to the conclusion. Even so, if my husband was not Palestinian but from <insert country of your choosing> (cuz I dont want to offend anyone by labelling), would the such a violent conclusion have been drawn?

And for the record, even though I do not remember the exact wording, I know this much. It was never along those lines period. My husband for one, is against those acts and despises the problems that are in his country. He, like a lot of other people, wants peace between all people that live there whether they be Christian/Jew/Muslim or Israeli/palestinian.

Just because a person is brought up in a certain environment, it gives us no right to judge that person for where he comes from. Would it be fair in the western world to judge someone who was brought up in the ghettos of an inncer western city the same just because of where they were from? While many people do, it is considered unacceptable. Likewise, it should be when you are judging other countries or ethnic backgrounds.

One thing i learned on my travels to Palestine a few months ago was this. It is bad to judge someone if you have not walked in their shoes. Those people, and not just Palestinians, but other countries come to mind such as Iraq, Sudan, Africa, have lived in horrendous situations throughout their life. If you lived in those situations, would you be living better? Would you have improved your life overnight? Probably not. We would all be doing as nature intended us to do-survive by any means. the trick of survival in those countries is to do so with honor and dignity. Even in the west, there are many who would screw another person over for his own survival. (stealing, spreading rumors about someone, etc, etc). There are bad people everywhere no matter what the environment. I am proud to stand here today and say that my husband is not one of thsoe bad people in any environment he is in.

Now can we all act like mature adults here and be tolerent of other people's beliefs or cultures whether we agree with them or not? This is a community with diverse people and we are all bringing SO's here from various parts of the world. I am proud to say that I belong to a community that probably represents every country in the world. (or at least most:) Now let's keep it that way and not destroy us based on prejudice.
