cats and incest

A friend of mine has one female cat that is a mother to two male kittens.

She spent the better part of last night prying one of the male kittens away from his mother because he was trying to get it on with her.

Is this normal????????????????????????????

I think so. My brother and sister kitties like each other an awful lot.

yeah it is normal.. we had a brother and sister cat once.. they were still really young but I guess they mated and the female cat had a littler of kittens but they all died...

Oh yes, it is normal. She needs to get all of them neutered if she doesn't want more kittens. Male cats can come into sexual maturity as early as 3 1/2 to 4 months, although 6 months is more likely. The two brothers will also become very aggressive and territorial to each other as well as sexually interested in the female ca, and your friend may also experience some terrible fighting between the two males very soon if she doesn't get them neutered asap. Neutering cats allows them to retain much of their 'kittenish' behaviour.

call the police and report incest, which is against the law.

also call child protective services, that mamma cat is taking advantage of the kitten.
