Instead of operating like a pendulum from season to season, maybe it is time for USCIS to conduct some process re-engineering to minimize such large variances? This is why there is a thing call contingency in the event things do change to minimize the impact.

They have and are. There used to be four service centers and now there are two. The transition is having growing pains.

Contingency is a plan used by private business, and not the government sector. You aren't dealing with a business trying to produce profit - you are dealing with a bureaucracy that exists to manage a lower-rung government priority.

You should apply for USCIS spokesperson. You would be a good fit.

I'm not sure what you are implying. If you have something constructive to say, say it. If you have something negative to say, let's hear that also. Especially if its a personal insult towards me. That will add a good deal of information to your learning curve about the service.

Not implying anything. You seem to be good at making excuses for what is obviously a broken policy. Usually that is left up to PR firms, or press secretaries.

I blame poorly thought out fee increase, poorly distributed work load, poorly placed location of the service center. These are things that are not in control of Vermont. The problem isn't just with Vermont but with how government agencies operate. They just don't think through everything.

Hey guys there is movement at VSC!!! Inky pinky got approved aswell as another from VSC!! See http://www.visajourney.com/forums/index.ph...p;#entry1942871

This could be it, I certainly hope so :luv: Comeon VSC.. keep them older petitions coming!!

Guys, VSC has been approving I-130's with NOA1 from the first half of January for the past couple of weeks. Trust me, I did my homework on that. Yes, it is extremely slow, but they keep coming one at a time. MOst 2007 filers will have January NOA1 dates, and there are quite a few of us that will soon be processed. Stay positive!

Folks that are thru this already, please don't preach to us about waiting, patience etc., only if you are in the same boat NOW you opinion about the wait and delays matters. I haven't heard anyone that's still waiting praising the delays or asking us to put up with it.

This sucks more than anything else has ever sucked before.

An October 2007 I-130, I-129F filer.

...

Should've played the Green Card Lottery instead - it's less random and more reliable.

yay, I have a reason to be pissed off, right? still didn't help me when I went to the local office.. all that did was bring a security guard over in my face wanting to kick me out..  actually since the OP is still pretty early, you can try a few things below.. Platypius, you weren't really nice to me back then when I was waiting.. =( I'm just so confused as to all their excuses now.. don't attack me anymore.. I already miss my wife a lot and still haven't heard a decision.. so I'm really going to #### them up next time I call in..

1) send letters to congressmen, senators, attorney generals, vice president, president.. hmmm.. where did I see that before? I've been telling about that ever since I started sending letters..

2) call your senators and congressman/woman and keep bugging them..

3) call USCIS everyday too, bug the hell out of them..

4) for over a year's wait, you can do what I do.. a "writ of mandamus" lawsuit against them..

Am I smoking Crack? No, but maybe I should be. Seeing as if you find it amusing that people are suffering, Why are they suffering, because they want to see their families? People did everything USCIS has asked, payed higher fees this year, and still get absolutely no help, no information, absolutely nothing. Your grand solution is to stop crying about it? Oh great ###### idea, thanks a lot mr.Obvious. When you'll go through what most of these people have gone through, come and mouth off, if you have nothing nice to say, stay out of this thread.

Mags and I filed during the beginning of the IMBRA thing....

It annoyed me back then when people complained about the "injustice of it all", and it annoys me now. In the US this process takes a long time. It always has, it always will. Pitching a b!tch about it will accomplish nothing, except maybe slow the whole process down while the onslaught of emails, Congressman inquiries, etc are dealt with. If you've been waiting over a year, then yeah....you have a reason to be pissed off. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of whining.

Considering the comments about herders and their various animals typically directed at those in the middle east, I think the comment about the goat was indeed racist.

Further, if there were another source of data independently gathered about immigration, I'd use it. The ombudsman has complained that USCIS is not forthcoming with information or data. They define and redefine information to suit them. They've refused to come up with information in a variety of inquiries.

Hanging around the system has made some of you very callous. You can sit on your mountain tops and shake your head at the poor newbies who are just experiencing the disappointment of this system, but it hardly makes you better. Your lack of empathy is pretty clear and that reflects on you personally. The delivery of your alleged "wisdom" is that of people who are full of themselves. And if this is where you derive your feeling of power or self-worth, I feel sorry for you.

If you think that the reason RJ is posting in this thread just to make herself feel like she's better than you, or to apologize for the system, then you really don't know her very well. Or reading what she's saying. or more importantly, receiving what she is saying.

I am sorry do we need some kind of a filter to actually receive what all of you are saying?

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Yes, because right now you are looking at things through the here and now and how things affect you personally, those of us who have been in the process for years and have been tracking and researching it are looking at it over time and how it affects the whole. And when you are stressed out and upset and missing your loved one like crazy, it's hard to listen to the message that what you are experiencing is nothing new and part and parcel of this crazy system, let alone accept that what RJ and others are telling you is not being apologetic for the process, or callous, but reality. It's easier to focus on "oh you've only waited xx days/months" or "you're not being supportive of our pain" than to accept what the truth is.

There is no doubt that the wait is crazy. There is no doubt that the process is unequitable. But there also is no doubt that this process goes through ebbs and flows and right now VSC is slow -- not just for spousal visas, but for fiance visas, for removing of conditions, you name it all across the board. I am not telling you not to do what you plan on doing, but I am asking you not to shoot the messenger.
