Conviction Help

Regarding the 3 conviction question...obviously I want to be upfront on the form and I am the USC preparing to file for my fiance's I-192F. Back in 1982 I was involved in a case, one of my roomates was selling drugs. He was charged and convicted with a felony of trafficking. I never had anything to do with his operation, a confidential informant made many buys from him. I was also arrested and convicted, but I cannot exactly remember what the charge was, it was a misdemeanor. I have tried to reflect and I cannot remember the terminology of the conviction but I think it was I because I lived there and allowed it to happen in the house. So I called the clerk of the courts for that county to see if the charge mentioned drugs and if so I would request certified copies of the case. He searched 4 databases and said according to records I do not exist and there is no record of anything except a record of me having a drivers license. I pushed him and he gave me 45 minutes of his time and drilled down deeper in his search. Checked variations in name spelling etc...but nothing came up either under my name or social. He said their records go back much further than that and I suggested something on microfiche per chance and he said if it is not showing it won't be there. To boot i moved very soon after 1982 and had learned my attorney committed suicide(no info to obtain there). I know the box must be checked if you have 3 things substance related and in addition I did have a DUI 24 years ago as well as a seperate paraphenalia charge. Thank god I got my stuff together now...tough youth!! My dilemma is I want to be truthful, but my memory of the details are sketchy at best and I don't want to appear evasive if I attach a sheet to explain without supplying the proper documentation. Plus I am not sure that there was anything related to drugs in the dispositon which would mean I would have only 2 convictions and no need to report it. It obviously is impossible to get a certified copy or any copy of the disposition for that matter because there is nothing there. Help!!! Any ideas? As I said I want to be forthright. I realize the chances are slim for denial because of this issue and the DUI 25 years or so ago. I just want to be honest and give them precise info. If nothing else I can tell them where to search and I can obtain the dispostions for the other cases. I just don't want them to think I am trying to hide anything. My fiance knows about them so it is not like she will be blindsided at the interview, which I understand is alot if the reason they want the information so that she is aware. I have called 3 different PI's to see if he can get the information because if the disposition was not an "actual" drug charge then there would not be 3 convictions for substance related charges. 1 said he couldn't help help, another said it would be $250.00 to see if he could find anything out and another said check the "NO" box because if the clerk cant access they cant either(I dont believe this). Long winded I know but geesh I wanted spell it out to solicit ideas.

IMO, you've done enough. I'd check "NO" and get on with your life if I were in your shoes.
