What in the heck is going on with VSC? This is ridiculous! At this rate we will never see our spouse, except for those who are lucky enough to squeeze though with their petition or happen to be at CSC! This is is totally unfair as we don't get to decide on which service center receives our petition. I think I'm going to crawl into a corner.

At any rate, I just bought my old lady a ticket to visit for the summer on the VWP. After the summer, she's gonna go back to Japan, and hopefully, her interview will happen soon thereafter.

If she gets turned around and sent home at the port of entry and this USCIS ####### goes beyond August, I'll likely cancel our application and move back to Japan for good.

I'm American, my wife is Japanese, and she's half of me. If they don't want her here, that's the same as not wanting me here. So #### 'em. I'll leave.

To hell in a handbasket this country's going. They'll turn a blind eye to anyone who sneaks in over the border and takes some high school kid's summer job. Then they'll arrest the high school kid for selling pot because he couldn't find a summer job. But then, when an American citizen goes through legitimate channels to get a law-abiding spouse from a staunch American ally in, they give the shaft. What a bunch of horsesh*t.

Yeah, call me racist for daring to bring up illegal immigration. I don't blame anyone who sneaks in--hell, I'd sneak south if was the only way to take care of my family-- but this government needs to get its act together.

kinda described how i feel

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

At least your wife has the possibility to visit you. If my wife was able to get here here on any time of visa, even temporary, I would be more than happy to buy the tickets and bring her here in a heartbeat. I am a proud US citizen (although born abroad, have lived here almost all my life) but am getting frustrated with the double standards our government has in place regarding immigration. As a law abiding citizen, I want to do what the law requires and yet we are being punished. We should have the right to bring our spouse here and then proceed with all the bureaucratic paper work. I can't see how these people who make up the regulation can sleep at night know that they purposely separate family members from being with each other. If they only experience the pain we go through!

This just bites.

I was just wondering what we could find out by submitting a request under the Freedom of Information act but it seems like we can only get copies of our own records...

OTOH, this might help GOGO figure out what is really going on. Or not.

Look at the bottom of the uscis page for the link to the FOI page.

I am with you on this one. They wouldn't let my wife in, not even for her daughter's wedding in Las Vegas under VWP

and not even grant her a visitor visa. So I moved to Japan. I am an immigrant myself and I thought the system was

bad thirty years ago. Not so, today is much much worse. And really, no hope for it to ever again improve. Once things are on the downslope, they will never ever come up again. Sad fact of life. Good luck to all!
