I am speechless, no words for something like this. I just read this and can't believe this, so horrible. My thoughts are with her husband and family.

At the rising of the sun and at its going down,

We remember them.

At the blowing of the wind and in the chill of Winter, We remember them.

At the opening of buds and in the rebirth of Spring,

We remember them.

At the blueness of the skies and in the warmth of Summer,

We remember them.

At the rustling of leaves and the beauty of Autumn,

We remember them.

At the beginning of the year and when it ends,

We remember them.

As long as we live, they too will live;

for they are now a part of us, as we remember them.

When we are weary and in need of strength,

We remember them.

When we are lost and sick at heart,

We remember them.

When we have joys we yearn to share,

We remember them.

When we have decisions that are difficult to make,

We remember them

When we have achievements that are based on theirs,

We remember them.

As long as we live, they too shall live,

for they are a part of us, as we remember them.

A woman is like a tea bag- you never know how strong she is until she gets in hot water.

I want to share some special memories with all of you.

I met Dawn on here a few years ago. She was waiting for Hatem's approval and fretting like all of us were. We all kept each other company waiting for interiew dates and plane arrivals. We were MENA before there was a MENA forum. Her tales of her time in Jordan had us all in stitches. No one could tell a story like Dawn.

Last July, when Mohammed left me, Dawn came to my house and sat on the floor with me. She took out all the arab spices. She even picked up my ex's shirts and socks he left behind, and she bagged them up so I wouldn't sit and hold them. She called me every week to make sure I was eating.

About every 2 months, we would meet at IHOP for coffee and pancakes. Ok it was the whole dang breakfast...stuffed french toast,,turkey sausage, eggs,,the works. We would sit in the booth for 2 hours talking. When we met at Caribou Coffee..we would bring our laptops like nerds, and go online.

The first day of Ramadan last year, they invited me to break fast with them in their home. She made maglooba with chicken. As we heard the call to prayer, I cried for my ex, missing him. They were so patient with me.

I swear my heart is breaking.

Jackie, thank you so much for sharing your memories of Dawn with us. I know that she was a special person and this just shows that all the good are taken from us too early. My eyes are filled with tears as I come to the sad realization how much Dawn will be missed.

My thoughts are with her family and close friends like you and Kelly who had the pleasure and the honor to know this great woman in person.

Please keep us posted on any charitable donations or other arrangements that I can be part of.
