Some questions:

1- What documents must be translated for the interview? any of these documents:

birth certificate

police certificate

vaccination records

anything else??

2- After the intervoew is finished do they return the documents to my finacee if she asks? Or does the embassy keep all the documents?

3- What airline did you use to buy tickets from Kiev to the US? I live in Los Angeles

Your list looks complete. You can review the documents required by visiting the U. S. embassy web site for Ukraine to see if you are missing anything, but that looks complete.

Most people provide copies of documents unless an original is required. But, the documents provided in the interview are kept in the applicants file and not returned. So, prepare accordingly on anything you submit.

I chose KLM because they had a direct flight from Europe to San Francisco. I generally recommend that the point of entry be in the same city that you are. Although most don't have a problem entering America, don't you think both of you will be more comfortable knowing that after exiting customs you will see each other. I also chose KLM because my fiancee(now wife) only had to take two flights. That's less a chance of losing luggage.

Allow about two weeks after the interview to schedule a departure. Although the visa is sent by overnight courier, it takes at least five days for them to process it after the interview. You need to add extra days if there are any U.S. or Ukrainian holidays during that period as nothing gets done on those days.

If you d/l the information packet from the website it tells you exactly what and how many copies and translations are needed.

Do not allow the embassy to keep any original documents.... If you do they become a part of the immigration file and are not returned.

Out of Kiev you have many choices.... Most major european carriers service KBP as well as Delta.... Choose whomever you want based on what is most important to you....
