Sorry to hear that you two. Nothing makes my heart ache more than when one of my fur babies is sickles. Hope they're all on the mend and 100% soon.

Forever In My Heart...

Minky10-6-07.jpg

Minky

Acquired: January 1st, 2007
Departed: November 3rd, 2008

My baby... I don't have the words to express how much you meant to me. How much you will ALWAYS mean to me. You and your cagemate, Chemo, were a semi-impromptu purchase on New Years Night from PetSmart. It was on the night my then-fiancé had to leave this city in the middle of the USA from a brief visit and go all the way back to Québec, Canada, by bus. I thought that you and Chemo would be good companions during this dark and uncertain time in my life, but I never expected you to bring as much joy as you have. You were here with me when my illness became so bad that I lost my job, only to get another one and lose that one, too. You comforted me during the times I cried when I missed my then-fiancé throughout the immigration process to the tears of joy when he finally, almost exactly 8 months later, moved here after getting his visa. You were here with me through the excitement, fear, and adjustment of the beginning of married life with my fiancé turned husband. So many "firsts" that you were here for... some good, some bad... but your presence has made the good ones fantastic and the bad ones bearable. Why did it have to be now that you had to become so sick and have to leave us, when everything was finally falling into place? Were you only meant to be with us through the chaos? Will you stay with us in spirit and be our guardian angel rattie?

Thank you, Minky, from the depths of my heart, for being exactly what and who you were. I, along with Chemo and your human daddy, will miss you so very much.

I'm sorry to hear that Necrotia! :(

I recently lost my beautiful Polly. She was my love- my sweetest girl. She lived to 17 and she had a great life. Polly is on the left and Oliver is the Yorkie. He misses her- my mom says he has been a little depressed.

I am so sorry for your losses. I know how much our furbabies mean to us and how much it hurts when they pass away.

My dog will only drink from one of our glasses, not shared, but you have to put the water in one of our glasses and she will only drink from that. And you can't just put tap water in her bowl, she'll scratch at the fridge and ask for filtered water.

We're thinking that in about a year we'll be getting Friday a new friend because she is a very social dog and this is her first time without having another doggie friend, so hopefully we'll have another friend for her to play with in the future. :)

Hehehe, our cats drink from glasses of water as well. I discovered this when I found them drinking from the glass of water I have on the bedside table for overnight. Now they have their own mug of water beside mine, on the bathroom counter and on the floor next to their food dishes. This is in addition to the automatic waterer, and the two large bowls of water elsewhere in the house. The water is always down to the bottom of the mugs in the morning and I have even seen Freija dipping her paws into the water at the bottom of the mugs and licking it off of her paws. They still insist on drinking my water too, so I have started to flavour it - they don't drink it then.

We got a new addition to our family over Christmas. This is Cole, a yorkie/shih tzu cross. Big brother Herberto is thrilled to have someone who actually wants to play with him (unlike those pesky kitties).

Cole is adorable. How old is he? What is the adoption story (I love those!)?

AOS Approved on 10-17-08 (details in profile)

Removal of Conditions on 07-19-10

In this tedious process, we tend to forget that this is all worth it.

I love my hubby beyond anything in this world.
